All this shooting!! When will it stop?! It's sad and disheartening to keep reading these kinds of stories over and over. Imagine what our children must feel growing up in this kind of world. I didn't post it when it happened but recently a little boy was shot to death at his own superhero themed birthday party. Why?!
Accessibility, that's why. Too many guns out there.
Guns carelessly stored or not even stored at all, hence why we hear of so many stories where innocent children end up as statistics, individuals reaching for their guns to settle scores, because that's what happens when an amendment grants anyone and everyone the right to own and carry guns.
I hear it all the time... there's "good guys with guns", and then there's "bad guys with guns", and aside from providing those like myself who reside north of the border with a good laugh, I see no differentiation between the two.
A few weeks ago I posted a video of a so called "good guy with a gun" pulling his gun on another customer at WalMart, over a
petty argument over mask wearing (of all things), so I can't imagine someone scooping-up the last hotdog on a barbecue grill at a party.
When I see the likes of idiocracy on that level, that tells me not only is the gun situation in the USofA out of control, so are the people. IMO the two make for a deadly combination.
Here in Canada, you don't see people walking around freely who are armed, and while no country will ever be 100% entirely free of gun violence, cases of gun violence in our country pales in comparison to that of the States, and yes, the States trumps Canada in population, but that's just an empty, shallow argument to nowhere... an argument continually used to bolster the recognized gun violence that exists south of our border, and whenever congress looks at stepping-in to improve or tweak gun laws in the States, the good old NRA is right there to quash any and all opportunity, because heaven forbid if someone can't walk around with a sidearm strapped to their sides.
Live by the gun, die by the gun, that's what's happening in America. "MORE GUNS"... that's all we hear in the news... more sales of guns, record sales of guns, more gun ownership, more people carrying, and at the end of the day, MORE GUNS equals -- MORE people using guns, and the cases of gun violence is going to continue to spiral out of control in America.
Here in Canada, a majority of homicides that revolve guns are targeted hits. There isn't much in the way of everyday average people shooting one another. Why? Because we have laws in place in our country, laws that work.
Rewind the life and times of America some 30 or 40 years ago... I'll bet very few people carried guns, and even less owned guns, but what I see is a new generation today, a generation where nothing means nothing, and everything including human life is disposable. Here today, gone tomorrow. With that sort of mentality, it's no wonder more and more people are looking at choosing to reach for their guns to solve their problems.
The Second Amendment has made reaching for ones gun easier than ever.
