....worrying? Do you worry?

Do you worry?
Have you always worried?
Has your worrying gotten worse as you’ve aged?
Yes, occasionally, but snap out of it quickly.
I was a worry wart years ago and I was unhappy. Since I quit worrying, happiness found me
No, when I started regular meditation, I have worried less. I remember I read worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair, you're moving but going nowhere. I remind myself that stuff will take care of itself whether I worry or not.

If it's something I know that needs to be done, I take care of it asap. If it's out of my control, that's when I don't worry.

I worried that it was a stupid question. Lol. That’s it. I’ve stopped meditating and don’t my yoga.

My worrying has become a bad habit with obsessive overtones that I need to do something about.

I sure do, and always have.

I wouldn't say my worrying has worsened with age, but all-in-all, it's remained about the same as it has always been.

For years I worried sick over having a mortgage, payments, yada-yada... now, being debt-free, there is no worries financially, but other things, some little, have a way of grating and grinding on me from time to time, and it comes out in the quality of my sleep.

Aside from being a staunch introvert, I believe a lot of the introvert in me has to do with consciously shutting out the outside world, because the less I accept and bring into my life, the better I do in relation to worry.

How easy it is to come up with buzz sayings.

If only the above could apply to those facing the loss of their homes and hundreds if not thousands of renters facing eviction come October, here in Canada.

Unless one is of the 1% of the 1%, worry is attached to average peoples lives.

Agreed. However, it doesn't make that saying any less true.

“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.”
LOVE this.
Yeah I get that during this pandemic, many people are worrying about what’s going to happen but the above statement is so true. The only time we have power to do anything is the current moment. The past is gone and the future hadn’t happened yet.

I read an article about the oldest woman in England who was 112 and still mentally quick as a whip. When the interviewer asked her what she’d done differently than most others, her answer was that she never worried about things she had no control over. If she had control, she’d change it but since she has no control, she doesn’t.

While I’ve heard it many times before, listening to her touched a certain chord within me where I listened intently. I’m going to work on this.
It’s liberating.

Instead of giving in to what you can't control, why not control some things by Organizing together
