Do you believe there will be lasting changes to our lives, stemming from covid 19?

The children will probably remember it the same way we remember contagious disease outbreaks during our childhood, such as polio.

I doubt that too much will change. As soon as there is a (reasonably) reliable vaccine, life will go back to normal.

Their memories and perceptions will be colored by how long this lasts and how parents and other important adults shape their world.

Children are far more adaptable and resilient than adults imagine.
Completely agree. Children are far more resilient than we give them credit for. Most of their hang ups are learned behaviour taught through family relationships and dynamics. They often think something is horrible if the parents do. Parents who learn to adapt well will teach their children to adapt well.

Couldn't they have a Zoom wedding instead? They are waiting a whole year to get married because of the virus? Why not just get married, and then plan a big wedding celebration a year later? (Just wondering.)

Anyway, happy family party, and happy anniversary!
That was what the they wanted to do....They have a lovely home, they both are College Graduates and doing well....It seems when my hubby
and me got married, we wouldn't have been able to live together...Ha Ha!!! It's a different world from 55 years of our marriage...

Absolutely. When this thing first started getting "real" as we say, I replied to a thread saying that I think this virus' would impact us in ways we hadn't thought of yet. I can't see that those of us who wear masks will stop once this dies down. Many families have had to bury multiple family members because of this. No family should have to go through that living nightmare. Some places of business will never recover, thereby cutting the incomes of millions. Some were already in deep debt...now they'll never be able to crawl out from under it. People are losing their homes because of this. Where will they live? We have yet another new wave of homeless people who never dreamed they would be in this situation and the U.S. isn't prepared to deal with it. Hell, most places couldn't deal with the homelessness before CV-19 hit.

Schools will have to change the how and where our children are taught. Inner city schools are already overcrowded...how will authorities fix that? The quality of education for many will suffer (even worse than before). Parents who have no choice but to go to work will be worried every time they drop their children off at school or at the school bus stop. Yet if they left them home alone, they face child endangerment charges. Children may never be able to play with friends in the normal manner. It's a mess and I don't know what it will take to clean it up.

Well said.

No.

As soon as this is done, people will jump right back into the way life used to be because we always do and we so yearn for the pleasantness of what's been lost. Everyone I see and talk to makes of point of saying how much they wish this was over so they could live like normal again.

This stuff will never become normal for us because nobody likes it or wants it.
