Moving a big cylinder

What would be the best way for an old lady that's not very strong to get this apparatus up the cellar stairs? It was once part of the house's water-softening system - it's 53 inches tall and feel like it weights 100 pounds. It took me 15 minutes to move it 10 feet to where it is now by rocking and rolling it over the cellar floor. Stairs are a whole different matter. When moving it, it made a sloshing sound like it had liquid in it.

Even at 100 pounds, you could probably pull it up the stairs, one step at a time. But you would really be asking for an accident. You should get some help with this rather than trying to do it yourself.

I though so, too. I could easily hurt my back, but probably wouldn't be much trouble for a strong man. I could probably do it if it had something solid to grab onto. I don't want to grab by the top - that looks like something that would easily get damaged and I don't know what the liquid inside is - water? softening chemicals?

Nope, nope, nope! Get help with this one. We love you too much around here to see you get injured trying to move something like this up the stairs.

A strong man, Deb, or a dolly with inflatable wheels.

Make sure the cylinder is strapped into the dolly when moving, because if it were to fall off or over and the top snapped off, it could spell curtains for those involved.

softening chemicals?
Most likely
I don't see any hazard labels

If I were you, I'd wrap it in a blanket or two, cinch a rope to the top of the bunched blanket,
go to the top of the stairs,
put the rope on my shoulder,
lean into the resistance, and walk away

But, I'm not you

So, if I was an old lady;
I'd call a young man
Invite him to my cellar
To hoist a few pounders

1. hire a midget so he and your cylinder can get off to an equal footing
Okay, okay it is not one of your riddles-I had to remove a bunch of silly words, but I just
couldn't remove me midget.

Is there any type of gas in it? First thing you need to do is lye it down on it's side. Find someone that knows how to rig straps to a cylinder so it does not slide through. They will need a two wheel dolly like movers use and step by step slowly move up the stairs. It is a two man job.

(I'm a plumber). There are two unions disconnected at the top. Lay it down to let the water & salt drain out. Then lift the bottom up onto something to drain even more. It will evaporate in the old concrete basement. Now it won't be heavy. Offer the next strong man/woman/teen 5 to bring it up and set it somewhere. They probably won't accept the five.
