CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Cleveland police officer took his own life, shortly after a Cleveland police officer was shot and killed while on duty, officials said.
Officer Nicholas Sabo, 38, wrote several posts on Facebook late Thursday and early Friday, referencing the shooting death Det. James Skernivitz before he died in his North Ridgeville home.
Sabo has been an officer with the Cleveland department since 2013, Skernivitz since 1998. Both officers were married and had children.

Not a lot effects me lately but this has hit me truly as a great tragedy. I feel such sorrow for the families and what these Officers must have been going through.

Notice , there are no BLUE lives matter folks rioting in the streets.

Perhaps they should ? And WE should support them ?

I must be a little dense, but is there a connection between the two deaths?

One officer committed suicide a few hours after his coworker was killed. I've heard of that happening with military guys returning home from combat. They hold each other up and when one falls, sometimes another can't handle it. So sad. :(
I still don’t understand, but then again, I’m not in that business. Thank goodness.

Support the Blue!

6 teenagers have so far been arrested in the case of the Police Officer who was murdered. Two of them have been charged with aggravated murder and one as an adult.

God Help Us....People don't understand what police go through...

Old Man....I don't know what you mean when you say "I 'm not in that business"
That was cruel!!! The Police protect us....

Why was it cruel? I stated the truth. I don’t know why one policeman committed suicide because another policeman was killed. I’m not in the police business, so I don’t understand what he was thinking. According to an interview with other Cleveland policeman and is on Cleveland.com, they don’t understand it either.

I have and always will support the Blue.

If they were ever partners, they may have formed a close bond which triggered his suicide. On one hand it always makes me sad that people feel they have no other recourse except suicide. On the other hand, I think it's a selfish thing to do....leave behind a grieving wife and children, especially if it's done where they could find the body. May both officers R.I.P.

Someone who commits suicide because their fellow officer was killed is having other problems that have nothing to do with the death.
Especially someone with a wife & kids.
