No Denying It Now...

yesterday hubs and I were out to lunch.. my handbag fell over and a couple of things fell out. I grabbed the lipstick and stuff which was on the table but a comb fell on the floor. Hubs went to bend to get it ( he's just turned 60)... and the waitress said... ''oh would you like me to get that I know it's difficult for old people to get down and pick things up''... I was furious!!

I can remember when I was about 15 how annoyed with my parents because they were so "young." My mom was only 36 and my dad was 6 years older. All my friends parents had gray hair and some wrinkles and my parents were about to have my youngest brother. It didn't seem like they were parents by looks.

Yes my parents were that age too when I was a teen. When I was 15 my mum had just turned 36 ... I still thought they looked old tho'

I remember my mother turning 35 and thinking how Old that was.....
I can look back at my mom and dad when they were 35 yrs old and I was 17 yrs old at the time. I can appreciate it now, how young they were at the time... 3 kids all before my mom turned 21. But having perspective now puts a whole new meaning to everything that happened as I was growing up!

No delusions here. Any that I had were shattered back when my kids were still all home. I was reading the back a of a cereal box and there was a trivia question. The question read: "Which of these was the name of a real rock and roll band?"

The correct answer?

Are you ready?

Led Zeppelin.

I decided to just deal with it right then...

Agreeing with Aunt Marg.. I view the offers of help as an evidence of having been taught good manners and concern for others. Being On a walker when I’m out I get offered help often. I Just thank them graciously and usually tell them I have to do whatever it is for exercise. The most recent being last week when a girl half my size offered to load my groc in my car for me.

But I don’t take any guff or being underestimated either. Like the time a PT lecture speaker was saying to a group of mostly older women that something “was too complicated to go into”. When it was over I gave him an earful about not saying like that again to a group. He was very apologetic.

I just over heard someone call 2 sixty year olds "an elderly couple"...
There's no denying it now... it's all in your perspective!
How did they know that the couple were sixty? People age differently....some never really get old while others are old before their time. Perhaps this couple behaved like elderly people and so an onlooker assumed that they were.

I see men n women in their late 40s n 50s look older than those in their 60s and older. Seems to me that those who reflect happiness and contentment shows a glowing aura compared to those who have "I'm grumpy, stay away" look. My friend said, "Do you know happiness is attractive?" Umm...now I know.
