Did Your Parents Have Names Of Affection For Each Other?

Why is it that rather than terms of endearment, the names ,which come most to mind, I can't type in here?
BTW, just to deviate a little from fmdog44"s thread. Did you ever wonder why your parents got married? Or do you know why your parents got together?
I know why my parents got together.
While they were dating around 1950, he got her pregnant. That was a big deal back then & he had to marry her. She knew no sane man would stay with her, so she had two more kids to make sure he didn't leave.
Me, my brother & sister were #'s 2, 3, & 4. My mom also had a daughter from her first (arranged) marriage in the Middle East. That marriage lasted 5 months. That marriage was annulled & she abandoned her daughter & left the country & moved to Chicago, where she met my dad who was a criminal defense attorney for big mobsters & making big money.

They did indeed. Reminiscing, I can still hear my Mam shouting up the yard, "Come and wash your hands, boll*cks, your dinner's ready."

My father called my mother by either her full name or "mama."

My husband has yet to call me anything, he just walks up to where I am and starts talking. Around other people he refers to me as "she." Maybe he can't remember it. Fortunately my son calls me "Mom-o-mine" and I like that.

Didn't know parents even had terms of affection for each other. I mean, I saw couples on Tv or in movies that did but didn't know that was real life...learn something new every day.

My dad often called our mom "Dahling."
Our mom often called him "Son of a bitch" & "Bastard."
When my brother learned the word & called me "Bastard" whenever he was angry, my dad would chuckle & say, "He's not a bastard. We were married when we had him." I guess he thought I would never find out that my older brother was the real bastard.... :giggle:

Yes, they did use terms of endearment for each other, and for us (3 kids). We all had nicknames and I've done the same with my husband and kids.
