What are your favorite old West movies?

"Lonesome Dove" ...my favorite book and loved the mini series. I forgot about "The Grey Fox".

"Unforgiven"
"The Wild Bunch"
Does "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" count ?
"Red River"
"HIgh Noon"

There are others but those came to my mind first.

I took this as movies about the old West and not old Western movies if that makes sense.

Open Range with Robert Duvall & Kevin Costner;
Quigley Down Under with Tom Selleck & Alan Rickman (I know: this is an "Australian" but it takes place during the same time as the U.S.'s old west & they talk about it too)
Oh Yes! All the Quigley movies! yes! and "Open Range" Yes!
"Gunsmoke of course, but thats not a movie. it's a TV show.

Wunna my favorites

I like my westerns a bit gritty, and raw, but not so much that reality takes a back seat
Oh my good gawsh, how could I ever forget Tombstone--don't know what's the matter with me but I am your huckleberry. :-D

Monte Walsh was a great movie too, can't believe I forgot that one, gonna have to watch it again. :)

Hopefully the one with Lee Marvin, far superior to not Tom (come on buy your reverse mortgage here, I need another million $)) Selleck.

There are too many good westerns, can't keep them all in your memory=thanks gar
