A Pattern of Losing Things

House key on a regular basis as a kid. Now when I go out of the house, I have to double check I have my keys.

Gloves - this started as a kid too. Later as the passenger in the car, I’d take my gloves off, set them on my lap and then forget about them when I got out.

My Mask - again the bad habit of setting them on my lap when I’m in the passenger seat. I think I’m finally learning on this one yet I have fewer mask than I started out with.

My specialty is umbrellas. I have left umbrellas: in a cab in Seoul, Korea, a United Flight, an American Flight, several restaurants around the world, various hotels and at least one cruise. I have learned to buy cheap umbrellas.

If you happen to have an old umbrella that you want to get rid of, ..... well I am your man.

I don't have a habit of loosing things, I just suffer from short-term memory as to where I left them! LOL!

Oh, and lately I can look for something I need, I search high and low, look every place possible, and after a few minutes of desperation, go back to where I first looked for the item/thing, and there it is right in front of me... right where I left it.

I understand the glove problem!

I guess we're never too old for a mitten string!

I know what you mean because it happens to me all the time. Just remember what I learned a long time ago."It's always the last place you look."

I recently went through a "where in the world did I put it moment" a few weeks ago, and it truly does put ones mind into overtime.

My entire life I have always been anal in my ways when it comes to cleanliness and organization, and while I'm still on top of my game as far as both go, it's as if I have gone partially blind as to spotting things, and then there's walking into the bedroom with the glass bottle of milk in my hands before I realize, "what in the world am I doing"!

I'm from the 'a place for everything, and everything in it's place' school. I haven't lost anything yet, but I still worry  that I will. I have two sets of keys in my purse - just in case. And a door key hidden - just in case.:cautious:

A radio presenter in the UK, (the late lamented Terry Wigan), loved to read out stories sent in by readers, and went on about a "home for the bemused or bewildered", where many of us now live perhaps, (I think a listener calling herself EdnaCloud, was one such!). :).
