The mask ......

I've never weighed in before on the mask, because i have never had to wear one one ,until today at the polling place.

First of all. they provided them, and ask that we wear one , so I did.

Hope i never need to wear one again .... even for that few minutes , it was very [I'll say] annoying , and somewhat difficult to breathe.

I do not go anywhere that it is required or suggested ... so far.

Not going to argue the science of it as i am not qualified to , but damn glad I can & do stay home.

I can't wear one at all due to an inoperable sinus issue which has never been a problem for me except for the occasional sinus headache but who could have foreseen this?

Every time I put a covering over my face I instantly overheat and feel faint. This is so not good. Anyone who can tolerate a mask, you are lucky and I tip my hat to you for being able to wear one. Life is pretty awful in this covid world if you can't wear a mask and lately I find myself constantly explaining to people why I am maskless. I must say that when I do, their looks of disdain turn to compassion and understanding. For this I am grateful and wish I had done it sooner.

We have gotten use to wearing one. Have two news ones in plastic storage bags in vehicle if we forget the ones at home. They are very hard to talk in, but, until our Governor tells us different, will continue to wear one and avoid eating inside a restaurant.

Those of us who can wear masks need to do so to help keep ourselves safe, and also to keep people like @chic safe. It's like vaccines. I get vaccinated to protect myself from various illnesses and also to keep them from spreading to people who cannot get vaccines because of their compromised immune systems. Getting sick would be especially serious for those folks.

I agree with @ClassicRockr. They're difficult to talk through, but I have no difficulty breathing.

I don't like it but I've gotten used to it and support it.

I'm very fortunate to only need a mask for less than an hour a couple of times each week.

I feel bad for people that need to or are required to wear one all day every day while at work.

My situation also. When I head out the door, I just automatically put one on.
Have some very good masks that are very breathable. I wear them out walking everyday, and find that sometimes they come in very handy when I DON'T want to stop and chit-chat with people while I'm walking. 🤣 ... just wave and keep on going.

We wear our masks whenever out in public....if it helps control this virus, we will continue to do so. It's a bit of a nuisance since it causes our glasses to fog up, but that is far better than the alternative. Those who Refuse to follow the guidelines can sit at home and Rot...IMO.

"Mask avoidance" is a great term. I usually don't go anywhere near people (except immediate family) in part because I hate wearing a mask. It takes the fun out of things I used to enjoy, like browsing in a bookstore or eating lunch at a fast food place with my daughter. So I don't do those things anymore.

If I do have to go somewhere, I put on the mask as soon as I get out of the car.

I honestly don't believe masks do a darn bit of good (everybody's wearing them, here and in Europe, and cases are skyrocketing).

But I'm a nonconfrontational type and wear a mask so as not to cause trouble.

Fogged glasses are a major problem. Can’t see properly without them-can’t see at all with a mask on!I hate going on a bus or in a shop.
I have my annual opticians appointment this month-perhaps they’ll have some ideas. All the internet remedies are useless!

We wear glasses, and I find that if I pull the mask up high enough to put the bottom edge of my frames on top of it, I get no fogging up. Hubby, on the other hand, doesn't do that (even though I've suggested it) and gets the fogging.

Many people have worn mask at their jobs for years. People who work in clean rooms, etc. But instead of wearing a mask, you could wear a full face shield instead of wearing nothing. It does not, in any way effect your breathing, but does protect other people from your droplets. @chic

Have you considered a face shield? It also provides you some protection, not as good as a mask but better than nothing, and let’s you keep your medical info to yourself in stores and such. RGP doesn’t need one. He stays home. 😂

Have you tried bending those steel reinforcement tabs outward so the mask isn't so tightly pressed against your face?

If someone provides a mask for you, I hope it was in a wrapped, sealed container & not just loose, which means it was contaminated with everything it touched before you put it on your face.
When I get home after running errands, I spray both sides of my mask with alcohol before wearing it again.

It looked ? Like they were covered with a paper towel. Honestly, I didn't think of that .

How does wearing a mask, reveal ones medical info ?

Why do you post a funny face here ? ......."

I do stay home, mostly due to arthritis .

I wear a mask anytime I'm away from house or shop, inside/outside I wear a mask. When the pandemic first started and we did not go to grocery, my beard got started fast and furious because I was out of razor refills. My wife wanted me to continue with the beard, even now. SO I have a full beard. The blue and white mask that are available everywhere irritates my beard and because the thickness of the beard it does not seal well. So I invested in the hood type, where you pull it down over your head to your neck then pull it back up. Its a silk like material, seals well and is very comfortable, does not irritate my beard and is very easy to breath through. At times I forget I have it on.

Actually, no, nowhere near everybocy is wearing them, and that's a big part of the problem.

You have possibly misread. Chic was explaining to people her medical reason as to why she did not wear a mask. If a stranger asks me a question about something medical, I tell them I will answer for a 100 dollars. As I have to pay my doctors, and, if they give an opinion, I tell them I will let my doctors know their opinion.

If you are wearing a face shield, you do not have to explain why you are not wearing a mask. It’s obviou-you are not wearing a mask because you are wearing a face shield.

I posted a funny face because I have no ideal what you do, how much you stay home vs go out so my comment, was meant to be funny.
