CVS Receipts

I've been going to CVS since is was Revco many, many years ago and maybe even before that but I can't recall another name it had.

Anyhow, for a long time they have given me these 2 feet long receipts that I usually quickly stuff crunched up into my purse. I had felt like these receipts were a PITA.

Sometimes I dig them out later to look at them and think I could have gotten some money off on stuff. Still, I chose to ignore them up until today. I had actually cut off part of the receipt for 5.00 bonus bucks.

I went to CVS tonight and one of the things I got was a bag of Dove dark chocolate...dark chocolate in small amounts
is good for diabetes type 2. I used my 5.00 bonus bucks and got the bag for free.

Nothing like free chocolate!

It’s the small amount part that always causes me a problem 😂. I mean, is it my definition of a small amount or someone’s else’s definition of a small amount? As in I don’t know how I got this fat, I hardly eat a thing. 🤦🏻‍♀️

You have to look at those receipts. I recently bought some eye vitamins, with a 50 % off the second bottle PLUS$10 Bonus bucks, which was on the receipt.
By the way here in California, CVS used to be Long's Drugs

Great to get 10.00 off! I better check mine more often if I can get that.

Those receipts are so long; I had to switch from CVS to Walgreen's recently and miss them and their bonus bucks. CVS's notoriously-long receipts have been turned into memes made into Halloween costumes and lampooned on national TV but employees say loyal customers still love them.

I prefer Walgreens because they give you points which you can use for
dollars off on anything whereas CVS gives me bucks off on stuff I've just purchased with an expirary of a week so what good is that? I don't need to buy the same thing every 7 days.

CVS gives me bonus bucks to get money off on anything in the store not just what I've just bought.

I think they have wised up and now give $5.00, $10.00 off anything in the store because they did that tonight.

They do for me Ruthanne, which is why I've come to like them better than CVS in that regard. 😊 Or do you mean CVS gives you the money off? Sometimes they give a 30% off all your purchases in which is sizeable, but they only do that once a month and I find Walgreens is cheaper than CVS and better quality on expensive items.

I meant CVS gives lots of 5.00 or more or less bonus bucks for anything in their store. I go there because they are right across the street from me. I used to go to Walgreens but they goofed up my prescriptions and they are much farther away.

I am a CVS regular and avoid Walgreens! Because of the loud bad music in the stores. Anyway the CVS. Extra bucks I always use. However receipt length is a huge waste of paper and I'd rather save the trees really. In Illinois by law receipts are not required in stores for this reason. But it cannot be enforced.

Interesting!

Ruthanne, I love that kind of Dove chocolate. And being "miniatures," we can eat one without having to feel guilty about it.

That smooth dark chocolate kind is good, but my favorite is the dark chocolate with little bits of almond in it. Yum!

You're right, it is a good chocolate--I've been enjoying it immensely!
