Most mornings, during the week, we will turn on the tv in our bedroom to catch the weather forecast and local news. During the day, I will also check my iPhone for local and National news. We don't get depressed over watching/hearing about crime in our area or other areas of the U.S.. Sometimes we wonder "why" this or that happened, but that's about it.
For us, we want to know what's going on. Some people say that those that don't care to watch their local news are those who want to "keep their head in the sand about it". However, I do know that there are people who can get depressed over watching the news. Actually, I had an old friend that told me, "if I ever want to be depressed, all I have to do is turn on the news". To us, crime is just a "reality", but if it comes close to where we live, we could think differently about it.
So, how do you feel about watching the news?
