I would like to know what "additional" treatments the 4th person needs.

COVID-19 vaccine side effects prompt Advocate Condell Medical Center to temporarily pause vaccinations

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. -- Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville is pausing COVID-19 vaccinations after some healthcare workers reported reactions to the shots.

Four employees experienced adverse reactions - including tingling and elevated heartrate - shortly after vaccination, according to a statement from Advocate Aurora Health.

Three of the workers are doing well at home and a fourth is receiving additional treatment.

While reactions are an expected side effect, Advocate said the pause will allow them time to better understand what may have caused the reactions.

Vaccinations at all other Advocate Aurora Health locations in Illinois and Wisconsin are continuing with no delay, according to the statement.

Four out of how many, Becky?

The reactions of those first three sound pretty standard to me, not too different from a flu shot. About the fourth, who knows?

I'd be curious to know what reactions, if any, have been experienced in the other places giving this vaccine. I wonder if there is a web site that will show this.

4 here, 2 over there, 1 to the left and 2 to the right.

It's the combined numbers that count.
The vaccinations for first round hasn't been completed yet, and round 2 has yet to happen.

There needs to be a website with that information, but none so far that I've found.

Why wasn't there more information on patient #4? I doubt being hospitalized is a fairly common reaction to vaccines.

Last time someone was hospitalized was the one lady that had anaphylactic shock.

Years ago I went into anaphylactic shock after getting a tetanus shot. It didn't mean that the vaccine was bad or dangerous; it meant I was (am) allergic to one of that particular vaccine's components -- just my particular body chemistry. Tetanus vaccines have undoubtedly saved countless lives, and just because I am allergic doesn't mean others should not get the vaccine.

Yes-but how do you know you are allergic before you are vaccinated?I experienced an adverse reaction to a childhood vaccine....and I need to compare if anything in that one is also in the Pfizer one.

If someone gets those reactions to a flu jab I assume they stop getting it.
I shall continue to watch carefully-and also see what happens with other approved vaccines.I hope some choice will exist with regards to which vaccine we can receive.

After wearing soft contact lenses for a few weeks without any problems, I woke up one morning with both eyes red. Not just a little irritated red; red almost like blood. Someone drove me to the ER & they diagnosed an allergy to "Thimerisol," which I later learned is a fancy name for Mercury - one of the preservatives in the cleaning & wetting solution. The eye doctor told me allergic reactions to mercury are "Rare." I found out later that they are not & that's why it was removed from the product.
