About 20 years ago I was collecting any and all Batman comics I could get my hands on. It was always interesting to see how the character evolved from the early days, and how new versions were being created in the later years.

LOL - Batman had more Robins than the aviary at the Bronx Zoo!
I lost track of exactly how many, but I know one of the issues had a reader poll to determine whether the current Robin should die or not - the majority voted "YES!"

Oh, yes. My oldest son had gotten into them back in the late '90's, and I took him to a comic shop.
When I saw the prices on them, WHOA! Collector and special editions everywhere, starting at $25 a pop!
He wasn't interested in the $1 ones - he wanted the fancy ones.
