Do you think it is worth it to try to look younger

I agree with Macfan, I personally am against anything outiside of using a face cream, getting your hair done, eating healthier, exercise and getting adequate sleep. All of those things will help you look younger and more vibrant. Celebrities in the public eye, in front of cameras, on magazine covers, etc. are a different animal. I embrace my age, and am thankful to get older, several in my family never had that luxury.

Definitely NOT with surgery. If someone wanted to color their hair, that would be easily reversible . I'm pretty sure my brother colors his hair, most 76 yr. olds don't have any hint of color in their hair, it looks natural. One time a co-worker of mine, who had all white hair colored it brown. Just looked oddball, didn't match his complexion, maybe the transition was too rapid as well.
A person could look a bit younger if they exercised and maintained a trim and firm body.

I just saw this topic and it blew my mind. Would you take the risk of having surgery to change the way you look? I couldn't believe how different Suzanne Sommers looked after her surgery.

No because I think it makes them look worse. I think it disfigures their features so much that it makes them more hideous to look at. I mean seriously...who the hell wants to look like Goldie Hawn does in that picture? Yuck!

Some of them are choosing to age naturally which may be stemmed from seeing these others with their surgeries. LOL

To each his/her own .. though I think most of the celebrities in the list probably would look better without having surgeries.
I can think of so many who look worse after surgery, even a simple upper lip botox or eye lift can distort the look of the whole face. I'd rather look like a older me, than a younger freaky looking woman that doesn't resemble how I've looked for years or my personality.

I played around with highlights and hair colors since I was a teen, of course when I started to see some gray I just continued to do what I was doing. My husband loves my color and so do I, so I'll continue doing it until I'm unable to on my own. I agree about the exercise, even mild exercise like brisk walking daily can make a big difference in appearance, regardless of actual weight loss.

No, no, no, never have surgery done for looks.

I think that some of those people should sue the person who wielded
the scalpel, they look awful and the world must be laughing at them.

Mike.
Who knows? They may sign a disclaimer not to sue for the results, unless it causes actual harm like infections, etc. These people open the door to possible disaster when they voluntarily go under the knife, so they bear part of the responsibility for the results, IMO.

Let's take Sandra Bullock for example...I think this woman had a natural beauty that I admired. Then she had surgery. Frankly I don't feel that it made her look better.

And now when I see her in movies she's beginning to look more and more like Michael Jackson if you ask me.

I avoid pain at all costs so doubt I would ever do it. If I had the money, I Would love to have my neck done, if anything, cuz I have that turkey waddle thing going on. It wouldn’t make me look any younger but I would feel better about myself. BUT...again...would bail on the day of surgery because of the pain. I’m a wimp

Well I'm all for anyone doing what thye want to do with their own body... as long as they're not hurting anyone else, and some of those pics in the OP would look totally different if there was weight loss, or weight gain, or no ageing involved all fairly natural things that could be easily fixed.

Some of the surgery is horrific, and I can only imagine what awful self esteem issues many must have to undergo so much surgery they end up looking like a freak... ( some have had good work done too, eg Sharon Osbourne) ... I've seen many of those pictures before but I have to admit to being shocked at seeing Janet Jackson surgery for the first time ... how sad she resorted to ruining her perfectly pretty face like that...

We know three wealthy women who have had plastic surgery.

In one case, there was no noticeable difference. She also had a lot of Botox injections that did not work out for her, in my opinion. Combined with the dark black dye she used on her hair, she started to look a bit like a witch. It was not a good look for a woman in her mid-seventies. She also went and got herself a Trophy Husband and that didn't work either since his heavy drinking probably lead to early dementia. But I will have to say, that she knew how to put together a great party, and why my wife and I always got invited is something of a mystery.

The second woman kept her blond hair going into her sixties, but her facelift did not work out very well. She was a beautiful woman and why she decided to do this mystified people. She was a Trophy wife, and her husband died early leaving her very wealthy and free to indulge as she pleased. She was not a very nice person and finally wandered off into the sunset with her own Trophy husband who was also a jerk.

The third woman was married to a wealthy Doctor, and her facelift actually turned out pretty well. We used to run into her at the gym a lot and she was reasonably likeable for a Trophy wife. Her husband was boring and a real jerk; I kept my distance. I had to laugh when we learned that he got falling down drunk on his yacht and ran it aground in the Savannah River for a total loss. He bought a new one within a month as he was really loaded.

Well, I was successful in drifting way off the topic, but maybe I gave it some context.
