Three diverse finalists: June Cleaver, Granny Clampett, Mama Girl Walton.

#1 is June Cleaver. I like her low-key demeanor. Of course, she has every reason to be low-key because her two boys never get into Dutch. They're so good, almost boring.
____________

By the way, is it bigoted to say "get into Dutch," which means to get into trouble? How 'bout "Dutch treat"?

I've never ever thought about this one, but for me my choice would be, Shirley Jones as Shirley Partridge (The Partridge Family), or Florence Henderson as Carol Brady (The Brady Bunch).

Both were fair but strict, and they were dedicated and no-nonsense.

That was me with my children.

Edited to add, the two moms I mention by no means were favorites of mine, just that I always seen them as being good, proper moms.

I thought that Grace from Grace Under Fire was pretty typical of most single working moms.

The worst TV mom is that little Swoosie on "Mike and Molly." Pure evil, I tell ya.

My favorite Mom is hard to pick because I loved Donna Reed and Marion Cunningham. My Brother said I was like Florance Henderson which was almost a compliment since he said my sister reminded him of Phyllis Diller is she was a tv Mom and her Husband would be Freddy Krueger.

Are you all kidding!? Lucy would have been the greatest mom. Just look at how she drove Ricky half out of his mind? Can you imagine her as a mother? She would have been the favorite of all of your friends.
