Any Monty Python Fans Out There?

I used to be a huge fan. We also started watching it in '74 after we'd heard about it and waited for it to be shown on our PBS station. I used to record the show's audio on a cassette recorder and then transcribe my favorite scenes so that I could memorize them. I used to have two of their comedy albums as well. I enthusiastically saw all of their movies and the ones from Terry Gilliam even though they had nothing to do with Monty Python. However I generally grew tired of them overall.

I still do quote some of their routines from time to time, the Australian table wines skit, Nudge nudge wink wink say no more, Eric the half a bee, and occasional witty lines from others.

The longest lasting Monty Python related thing I enjoy on a somewhat regular basis is the movie Brazil directed by Terry Gilliam. It's my #5 favorite movie of all time and I watch it again every few years. I also have some of the music from the movie in my music playlist.

While I liked Python very much, John Cleese as Basil in Fawlty Towers is so insane, everyone is his foil, (except his wife) I just love love love that show.
I'm sure you probably already know, but did you know JC's real life wife at the time Connie Boothe who played Polly the waitress wrote the series..?

Holly, when you said JC's wife, you had me wondering for a moment there.... 😄

Getting back to John Cleese, I remember his hilarious character, the Minister of Silly Walks. But I don't remember what that was in. Was that one of their Monty Python routines?

It was on their show and also in one of their movies. I'm not sure if it was reshot for the movie or if they used the TV footage.
