Will you tell us of your "ghost" experience?

Oh, Another one: Back when Iwas going with this handsome guy, he cheated on me and we broke up. I was hurting so bad. I was in my little office cubical trying not to cry.
I felt this hand on my shoulder and thought it was one of the girls trying to make me feel better, because I told a few ladies what happened.
I turned around to say "Thank you" and saw the top 3/4 of a pretty lady with a 1930's hair style and a green dress with pink and yellow flowers (like a flour sack print) The sleeves gathered at the shoulder and going not all the way to the elbow. The cotton dress was from the 1930's.
She had a tiny black belt around the waist and DISAPPEARED before my eyes! I didn't notice her feet.
i found out later her name was Paula. She was a spirit around me, filled with compassion!
She had completely materialized .
No, I don't drink or take drugs. This was a true happening.

I've never experienced a ghost, as in seen one physically, but I've spoken with a number of others that claim they have.

I think it would freak me out way too bad.

Isn't it strange that the ghost you seen was from the 1930's, Gaer.

I'm thinking why the 30's, and not the 60's? Or 50's?

I don't know why Marg! But the clothing and hair style was ABSOLUTELY from the 1930's. No mistaking that!
She was not an angel. She was a ghost! her hand on my shoulder was as if it were a real person!

You take it all in stride so well, Gaer, I admire you.

I'd be a bundle of nerves after an encounter like that.

Besides my posts #2 and #51, these are the only other ghostly-type encounters I've experienced. After our cat Audra died (over 25 years ago), I used to think I saw her, just out of the corner of my eye. It was like a small shadow like figure about the size of a cat, walking the floor. It would usually be coming out of the apartment hallway into the living room or headed to the adjacent kitchen. I once read that something like that could be a pet visitation. A few times I also felt like something had jumped on my bed (like she used to do). I shrugged it off as possibly being a dream though.

I may have already posted about this but I've also had an encounter with a cat. My cat used to curl up behind my knees in bed every night. After she died, one night I went to bed, was still wide awake, and felt my cat walk over my legs and curl up behind my knees. For some reason it didn't bother or scare me and I didn't want to disturb her so I didn't move an inch. I fell asleep and it never happened again.

Love your story Caroln. I imagine it was comforting that she was still there will you. Too bad it only happened that one time.

I was sleeping and awaken by a force that felt close and loving. It pulled me out of bed and on a walk to my front door. It was cheerful in nature and made me feel something but I wasn't sure what.

A day later I got a call from my father saying my younger sister had died. To this day I believe her spirit came to me to say goodbye and she was the force that pulled me from bed to my front door.

Oh! How wonderful you were aware that she came to see you! She's in such bliss right now and came to tell you she loves you!
Sorry for your loss and that you won't see her for awhile but that was a lovely story!
Ruthanne, You have been through SO MUCH in your life! I'm proud of your strength to endure all this!

That means a lot to me Gaer coming from you. It was about 38 years ago but I miss her still.

When I was 22 we lived in a 150 year old house and spirit’s definitely were there especially upstairs. They weren’t evil but left us uneasy. I never saw them but my 4 year old son saw an old lady. Many weird things happened. I was so happy to sell that house after 2 years. It was a small town and the next owner reported similar things.

The weirdest thing that happened is I was at a friend’s house visiting from out of town. I always felt uncomfortable upstairs in the guest bedroom. My little dog hated the upstairs and was afraid.

One day I was blow drying my hair and picked up my curling iron to plug it in and it was hot although not plugged in. I couldn’t believe it so touched it a few times and burned my finger. I then used it on my hair. When I told my friend she said that the previous owner hung herself up there.

My mom had many experiences throughout her life and wasn’t happy about it. She also could feel when someone close to her was going to die. She always paid attention and trusted her intuition.

I had a Triple bypass 12 years ago. I was living alone as my husband died 2 years before. The night I came home from the hospital I felt so tired and collapsed on the bed in a flood of tears. I managed to pull the covers over me and drifted off into a deep sleep. Suddenly my smoke alarm started
going off, I looked at the clock and it was 3am. I struggled out of bed and found a broom handle and tried to stop the alarm. This was so difficult because anyone whose had heart surgery must not raise their arms above their head because of the stitches. It eventually stopped and I went back to bed. The next morning my sister rang me to say her husband's father died at 3am. Maybe he was passing through to say "Good bye".?

My dog definitely saw something one afternoon on a clear day, that I could not see.

Rowdy is gone now. I had to make a very tough decision in 2011 and let him go. He was my heart dog.

Rowdy came to me from the streets. He appeared one night. My other dog, Sugar, alerted.
I could see Rowdy in the shadows of night and he was in bad shape. I took him in and nursed him back to health.
About 3wks later, I found out who had owned Rowdy and returned him.
The guy said Rowdy had been gone for about a week before he turned up at my house.

Rowdy kept escaping the guys house so often and coming to my house, the guy finally just gave him to me.
Rowdy found me and wouldn't not take no for an answer. Rowdy was a devoted friend, totally and completely attached to me.

Rowdy was a no-nonsense, all business, keenly aware, focused, determined and efficient man dog. Afraid of nothing.

One afternoon on a clear day, I was standing in the middle of the backyard with Rowdy and Sugar.
The Sugary one was nosing about the ground and gazing about with not a care in the world.
Rowdy was motionless beside me and intently looking up toward the sky ... at nothing.
Just as I noticed this ... looking at Rowdy, looking toward the sky and then back to Rowdy ... he ALERTED !!! And startled me.

Rowdy didn't try to jump up and he didn't move away. He gave no ground.

He wanted me to KNOW there was something he was focused on, toward the sky.
The big boy barks told me he was serious. There was something unfamiliar to him RIGHT THERE above us.

I reached down to give Rowdy some rubs and pats as I spoke to him ... he refused to be distracted.
There was something above us that he could not identify and he continued to ALERT !!!

Then ... it was gone. Rowdy went about his business like nothing happened. I haven't a clue.

My hope is that at my end of days, my buddy boy Rowdy will find me again and tell me all about it.
I miss you buddy boy. Find me again, Rowdy !!!

When I owned a 100 year old log cabin in the high mountains of Southern California, I had put up this
wicker heart (picture below) on a hallway wall, visible from the living room. I put it up on two 16 D nails
at an angle that could not pull out.
I had invited a date in for some hot chocolate because he was on his way down the mountain and it was
a cold Winter night.
I hardly knew him and he became extremely (hm-m-m! What do I call it?) passionate, against my wishes.
I kept saying "no!" and it only made him more aggressive.

This wicker heart FLEW AT AN AMAZING SPEED ACROSS THE ROOM! It was about 30 feet from the wall
in which it had been hanging. it hit him HARD in the chest and he screamed from the pain.
I didn't see any "spirit" or hear him, but I laughed. Someone was protecting me!
This guy shot out of my cabin so fast, yelling "What the hell was THAT?" He was scared to death!

I did think I heard a deep voiced "laughing" through telepathy, but I may be mistaken about that.

@Gaer - Hi again - in a way I long for a family 'ghost experience' - I stopped communicating with my mother some 60 years ago for reasons I won't go into - Dad had died 20 yrs before her! - I have seen him and spoken to him once 'in dream' me in a health clinic working and he in an adjoining 'pub' out socializing [theirony of a pub and connected health clinic has not escaped me - I once worked in an "alcohol and drug Authority " !!! - I called to him and he said :"let's catch up later" we never did. Then my deceased younger brother - died with leukaemia in Spain. In another dream I was working or using a petrol station and he pulled in said " can't stop now will catch up later" he never did??
