So i have had 2 deliveries just go missing .......never delivered at all ....... when contacting courier I hear " we are looking into it" nothing further ..

Today I contacted the business i was getting items from told them to look at this from their customer view...
the sub contractor reflects on them .... getting credit / refund back does not solve anything ...... if a person Needs or expects that item they will need to find it locally or something .....
I realize many small groups are trying to fill in gaps since deliveries have skyrocketed but how much bad service will a business put up with before cutting their losses. the package yesterday said Delivered ....
i started asking where did they deliver cause it was not here even walked to several neighbors houses to see if it was sent to wrong house......
This morning it was out on delivery scheduled to be here by 8pm with yesterdays date....... i clicked on email to ask where it is since last delivery with this service NEVER showed up .....
got the standard we are looking into it....... i contacted main company told them how this delivery group made the main company look bad....
now i get Nasty email from delivery company saying "it was delayed by weather and if i felt like complaining ..... who gives a crap"

wow is all i can say

We've had a couple of packages go missing over the years, neither recovered or found.

Chaps by behind something awful, because after umpteen calls, no one had a straight answer for us, which tells me someone made a boo-boo somewhere along the way.

Did get credited back our funds both times, though it did take some weeks.

Exactly .... I worked in customer service as well as logistics and never expect too much but this was over the top......
Right now:
my neighbor is having some HVAC work this morning and truck parked blocking my walkway and they are walking across my lawn to get to her house.......
I just do not understand how people have zero idea that their behavior is inappropriate ...... they did not block her driveway or walk why park in front of my house knocked over a planter i have that was covered in snow ... kicked it ............ seriously rudeness and who cares attitudes are OUT OF CONTROL.
I am fast becoming the crabby lady that is calling to complain or emailing more often then not......

I've noticed big changes today as far as people's conduct goes.

One such example, when I was growing up, delivery men, workers, mailmen, never left the sidewalks and walkways, nowadays, cross over someone's lawn, through and across someone's yard, anything goes.

Society as a whole has lost a lot of ground.

Ha! I live in an apartment with a nice mail box right down stairs which is pretty nice in this freezing weather. When I order from Amazon, which is not very often, they almost always send thing by courier service rather than using the post office. Maybe they are saving money? The trouble is that while the post office sends the parcel right to my box, the courier service leaves much to be desired. More times than not, I have to drive to the city to collect the parcel from the courier service office. They do deliver to our town but the service really stinks. Often there is no phone call & there are no notices posted near the front telling me that I have a parcel. I have to go to the Amazon website to check on whether a delivery has been made. I really get this feeling that there are just too many orders out there due to Covid-19 & the delivery services are not keeping up & they are not making a change to their businesses to keep up with the times.

I realize the demand is large and delays are expected ............but do not keep changing the status it said delivered now it is somewhere else on the way?
who had updated to delivered in the first place ....... these companies will refund but someone stole their merchandise most likely this fly by night local delivery group........ in the end it will all trickle down to the customer ........ we will pay for with higher prices sooner or later

but as for the business Email I forwarded to the original company ........ i wonder if these are logistic people working from home that think they will not get caught or just hate their job.....

No one in customer service cares anymore ! No one.

Feeling satisfaction from “a job done correctly and well” seems to be gone, replaced by: “whew, I did just enough to get by and made it to quitting time”, “ not my fault, not my job”.

I don’t order a whole lot, but when my apt office stopped accepting pkgs due to an Amazon Avalanche, and the UPS and Fedx trucks not even making a stab at delivery, I got me a “virtual mailbox” at a very convenient UPS STORE. Costs a little under$10 a month & I use it as the “send to” for whatever I order. Love it! They accept any form of delivery & when it arrives there they send me an email. Not 20 steps from car to door and they load anything too big for me to balance on the walker. Store is secure, never been broken into. Exceptional service!

I work from home have been here the entire time it is not a matter of missing the delivery .... the delivery simply was not even attempted..... i truely believe these fly by nights a guy with a van hired out for overflow keeps what they want knowing the company will refund.......
except they do not get the person needed or wanted that product......they not only probably stole the items they screwed with my time to research and go replace the item i needed....

You literally got an email from the company saying that, or saying they didn't give a crap, or did they say that severe weather in North America is causing cascading delays and breaks in service that are beyond their control?

Between UPS, FedEx and USPS, over 30 million packages are delivered daily in the US alone. No idea how many packages are sent through smaller couriers.

It's a lot to keep track of, which I try to bear in mind when gritting my teeth over late arrivals or incomplete tracking info.

yes....... they wrote if ........i was to complain who gives a crap .......

it is not that i do not appreciate the volume it was same small carrier .........that first reported it as DELIVERED......... then when i inquired said it was in transit ..... then still has not showed up so far past due now and item is perishable.
last time same carrier no show and no idea where item went. not a fluke IMO

While giving the benefit of doubt is needed due to volume and weather etc.................... but there also comes a point where a customer should expect a job to be done or updated and explained......... not just say it is OK to do whatever...... and insert excuse _______ here

That's pretty shocking and disrespectful. I'd forward their email to the vendor.
the irony is i could drive to their starting shipping point in about 5 hours ..... this was not had to travel the world type thing

We have good service where I live, and most of our stuff we get from Amazon. The only problem we ever have is when we order from a restaurant and they screw up our order, but they seem to be getting better.

You found an excellent solution that works for you!

A lot of food drivers are new, d/t the rise in delivery demand d/t Covid. It's kind of you to acknowledge that they are getting better.
