Woman rescued from sinking car after crashing into Hawkesbury River, Sydney

The Hawkesbury is a beautiful river. I fell in love with it as a child.

It is very deep because it is a drowned river valley. 90 feet in the channel. It also has a strong current and many large eddies that you wouldn't want to get caught in.

Without timely rescue this woman would have had no chance of survival.
Hail to the heroes.

From all that I have read, there are sharks and crocodiles in that river.

Sharks only below the dam. No crocodiles that far south.

There is a large stretch that is fresh water that is used by water skiers and where the fishing was good for amateur fishing. We used to catch flathead and bream from a rowing boat when we holidayed there when we were children.

Unfortunately since then the river has become more polluted due to housing developments. Back there is was orange orchards.

Thank you for weighing in on this for me, Warri.

What a dirty rotten shame about the pollution.
