Pepe Le Pew Is Cancelled

The latest move to make us pure is the cancelling of another animated figure, yet we allow Homer Simpson to choke Bart nearly to death and abuse alcohol. Peter Griffin of Family Guy another chronic alcohol abuser and his buddies are constantly degrading women and firing off jokes about race. At least once per week there is a documentary about Hitler and other monsters and by the way anyone can buy a copy of Mein Kampf any time. I have a copy myself. Now, the other characters in the Pepe family like Road Runner, Yosemite Sam, Bugs & Daffy are constantly killing and trying to kill others. So where does this "cleansing" of society end?

It's about time that skunk is an animal!

I'd already canceled Pepe myself. When my sons were growing up (25 years ago) I was sharing some of the cartoons I used to enjoy when I was younger. When I saw what the Pepe Le Pew cartoons were like I stopped getting those to share with them. I was appalled by what I had taken as entertaining and humorous behavior in my younger years. There's no place for such entertainment in my world these days.

After I watched a couple of episodes of The Simpsons with my kids, I didn't allow them to watch it anymore. They can now, of course, and the boys do, but with an adult brain, from an adult perspective. And they do think it's funny but they totally get why I had issues with it.

I didn't like Pepe Le Pew when I was a little girl, altho' I didn't understand everything, I understood that cat (or whatever it was) was clearly upset with him and that upset me.

Violence? That will never go away. Remember Tom & Jerry, Popeye always fighting. Action movies, detective shows, mysteries; our entertainment revolves around violence and murder.

Sex is not evil, but unwanted advances should not be encouraged, in my view.

I always thought Pepe was a weird, unlikeable character. Every episode was the same: Female cat gets "striped" to look like a skunk and has to fend off M. Le Pew's advances.

I think I let my son watch it, but he was more of an X Files kind of guy.

Wow, this is complicated. Some "woke" groups are in fact trying to cancel Speedy Gonzales. But apparently some Mexican-Americans like the character because he always outruns and outwits the gringos. No one seems to care too much about Pepe Le Pew.

I have said it before, and I will again. This is just another example of the younger/more modern generation doing all that they can to separate themselves from 'anything' once a part of the 'older generation.

IMO, 'we' and our ways are clearly hated . In individual homes/families ? No, but in general terms,... for sure.

I think this spells the end of my favorite mouse. Always beating up those poor kitties. 🤣 🤣

Mickey is in trouble for wearing blackface in a 1933 Disney production called Mickey's Mellerdrammer.

It seems that all of the Saturday morning cartoon characters that we grew up with have a past that catches up with them sooner or later.

Why do you have a copy of Mein Kampf? Not that I think it should be banned (except for maybe in Germany), but why own a copy?

But rap music calling women b*****s and h*s is okay. Is that not "rape culture"? But a cartoon skunk trying to get a smooch is banned. Yeah, makes perfect sense to me.
Crazy isn’t it. Meanwhile the song of the year which is a rap song is disgusting. Edited only because I should have known not to post it.
Note: I didn’t write the song. Just posted it as proof that society doesn’t too much care about songs but suddenly old cartoons have become offensive.
