Thanks Aunt Bea. Never thought of that. Will do.Before you buy check with your PCP and Medicare. If they are considered durable medical equipment you may only need to pay 20% of the basic price.
Good luck!

We don't have lift chairs but our recliners are electric. It was fun crawling out of it the night the power went out.I have a lift chair, but can't offer advice, my mom and I bought the ones we liked at the local furniture store years ago. I'm not sure whether my mom got much use from the lift feature, I don't remember seeing her use it. I appreciated the lift a lot after my hysterectomy surgery. The only down side I've found is when the electricity goes out there is no way to get the foot rest up. Oh, and once my chihuahua dodged the descending footrest the wrong direction and got trapped under the chair. He was okay and announced his predicament instantly.
Yes, there is a foam shortage.I hear there are a lot of furniture shortages due to virus.
Thank you Aunt Bea. Very helpful.@Pappy I found this article that helps explain a possible reimbursement on the motor and hardware.

Good luck!
I LOVE my recliner. My parents loved theirs. After my dad had a stroke he had a lot of trouble with his because he had to re-learn how to use it, but other than that, they were very happy with them.
