My stimulus check is here and we are looking at these.

....Be Careful, out there!

Some years ago, someone gave me a manual type, with a large lever,
which might have helped someone else, but was not sufficiently helpful for me, even at that time.
It also was not at all comfortable, while I was sitting in it, for my body/size/etc.

In addition, a few years after that, a close relative of mine had one that they were not pleased with, even though it was more automatic than that one.

I am sure there have been many improvements over the years;
I just thought I'd add these comments, for you to be aware,
that people who might offer to give or sell you, a "lightly used" one....but those might not work for you or for her,

so you'd have to have very specific details, about how each one/type operates, even if new,
to be certain the ones you get, would meet each of your specific needs.

I have a lift chair, but can't offer advice, my mom and I bought the ones we liked at the local furniture store years ago. I'm not sure whether my mom got much use from the lift feature, I don't remember seeing her use it. I appreciated the lift a lot after my hysterectomy surgery. The only down side I've found is when the electricity goes out there is no way to get the foot rest up. Oh, and once my chihuahua dodged the descending footrest the wrong direction and got trapped under the chair. He was okay and announced his predicament instantly.

We don't have lift chairs but our recliners are electric. It was fun crawling out of it the night the power went out.

Make sure you get one with a battery back-up!

As someone already said, if the power goes out you are stuck unless you have one with a battery backup. When I checked with Medicare, they pay nothing on the chair, they pay on the motor part. I do not know the percentage.

My parents loved theirs. After my dad had a stroke he had a lot of trouble with his because he had to re-learn how to use it, but other than that, they were very happy with them.
I LOVE my recliner.
