An Inanimate Object I Hate

For the longest time after I pinched myself with my husbands pliers, I hated them and even looked at them with contempt.

It hurt so bad, and I even got a good blood blister to go along with the hurt as a reminder not to do it again.

Same here and I've never before met anybody IRL who agreed with me about escalators; in fact, my parents, older siblings, and friends were always laughing at me for not being comfortable with 'em; thank goodness for this site. (Now, I've just gotta find another person who had problems figuring out how mirrors worked when they were a kid like me...some day... 🤪

we've had roundabouts all my life, so I'm very used to them , I understand they're new in the Americas.. but I have driven in countries where there are no roundabouts, and it's so much more dangerous I feel...

'Give way to the right' seems to confuse many people, resulting in collisions.

I can relate. As a child I had a dream about going down on an escalator and instead of stepping off, I kind of "sifted" through the holes. To this day I think of that dream when getting off an escalator.

That's the one that used to scare me the most, feeling as though you were going to flip over the handles.

Well, as a pedestrian, I see things from a different viewpoint from a driver. Near where I live, there is a combined roundabout and a pedestrian crossing. Believe me, the safest thing to do is wait patiently until the road is free of traffic before crossing. I think drivers have too many things to think about and they get confused.
 
We have roundabouts (the double lane type) and traffic circle (single), though the terms get used interchangeably. Roundabouts are confusing for me.
