When a hedge is no longer a hedge.

I've been watching two neighbours snarling at each other over the last week.
One has a hedge within six feet of the others windows and the hedge is/was about twelve feet high.
'A' asked 'B' politely if he would cut the hedge down lower to allow light into his lounge, but 'B' told him to 'get stuffed'.
A lot of shouting and threats were exchanged, then today as I arrived home, I saw 'A' with a chain saw cutting B's hedge down right to the ground.
I've been sat at my window to see the next episode, but as yet, 'B' hasn't surfaced.
I'll keep you posted when anything interesting occurs, it's better than watching the TV. :)

Timoc. You know that old saying, "Good fences make good neighbors'?

It's true. :)

Neighbour A, is in the wrong if neighbour B's hedging was on neighbour B's property.

If it were me I'd be getting city approval to build a double car garage where the existing hedge was, or erect a permanent privacy structure of equal height as the hedge was.

That's destruction of property. I do sympathize with A though. If I had something that hurt my neighbor, I would have done something about it. But, we still can't take the law into our own hands.
However, if I wanted to be a little sneaky:devilish: about it, Gemma's idea would do the trick. Some root killer and it would be gone.

OMG..how old are these 2 men?>.Is it likely to end in violence ?

Wonder why Man B was so set on not allowing light into Man A's home...

Goodnight all.

Tim :)
Goodnight, Timoc.

Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite. :)

My mom always said that to me when tucking me in for the night, and I carried on the tradition with my own children.

Good thing this is happening in the UK so there aren’t guns readily available.
yes , most people don't have guns without a licence...however that's not to say many don't have guns illegally...altho' unlike the USA not as prevalent..

I'd like to hear an update about this, because cutting someone's hedge right down to the ground is enough to make the most passive person angry, and the guy who owns the hedge sounds to be anything but passive.

The two of them have actually been talking to each other today. No clenching of fists or shouting, and my friend, Nora, who I'm sure has the most sophisticated listening devices and lives the other side of Mr A, tells me, "Not that I was eavesdropping you understand, but Mr A has been helping Mr B to load all the hedge into Mr Bs big van and take it to the tip."
So there you have it, my friends, peace on the western front, well for now anyway. :)

Any chance that Mr. B told Mr. A he could cut it down if he wanted to, but B wasn't going to do it for him?
