They also said that of the 1000 active cases, only one-third were fully vaccinated, i.e. two doses. The other two-thirds were either unvaccinated or had only had one dose. I guess this just goes to show that we need a higher proportion of the population than 60% to be vaccinated.
Also I don't believe anyone has ever claimed that vaccination would make us completely immune to the virus. Here at least, they are talking about the vaccination saving lives, and maybe making people less contagious if they don't get as sick with it.
