Blah. Go back to the past at your own risk. Those were really crummy times. Try getting some clean water, and after getting sick on the clean water, try finding some antibiotics. Enjoy dysentary, diptheria, and typhoid fever and a host of other less serious maladies. You'll be laid up most of the time until you're strong enough to crawl back into your time machine.

Time Machine; one of my favorite movies of all time.
There's a guy (forgot his name, darn-it) who built an exact replica of The Time Machine and made a documentary about it and time travel. He's got some vids on youtube. (and he's an acquaintance of my oldest son)

It's possible there are certain parameters that limit time travel, but I'll never say time travel is impossible.
Maybe we have been visited by people from the future. Who would know?

No desire to be a god of any sort. I'm happy being homegrown and unknown. Besides the trick is to keep moving and never tell anyone where you surfed or how the waves were. No way. Besides they were all stupid kooks and he basically lost his freaking mind. Dennis was the only one who even stuck his toes on a board and suggested they start singing about it. Lame.
Of course, I dug them when I was 15.
Until I realized how plastic they were. Remember hating anything "Plastic"?

I'm pretty sure none of The Beach Boys actually surfed. At least not before they got famous. A couple of them might have tried it after becoming known as "representative" of surfers.

I will be the realist and remember we cannot go into the future. But that being said, I would go back to any year of my childhood. My dad and uncle owned a place up in the 1000 Islands NY, a motel, gas station and restaurant. Right up near the border (walking distance for my cousin and I). My mom and I went there every summer to spend time. The place was seasonal..open April through Labor Day.
