A Victory after a month battle! :)

I just had a major breakthrough in balancing my IBS symptoms. I have been battling them for about a month. It is also the first time in quite awhile I have felt relief and happiness. At our age that feeling of being happy doesn't happen that much. Most of the time we try to reduce the suffering we are experiencing.

I had been balancing MetaMusil and MiraLax to get me through it, then a week ago I went on a Keto diet. I quit eating almost all processed sugar too. And Wah---La!

IBS and Ulcerative Colitis are tough nuts to crack and I am happy for you being able to get this under control without having to go on medication. I have Ulcerative Colitis that has been in remission for about five years now, but I have to diligently take medication for it. Three capsules first thing in the morning before eating anything and then three capsules later in the day with the requirement that I have eaten no food for two hours before, and that I eat no food for an hour afterwards. There are times when scheduling this can conflict with other activities. You don't want to go there if you can continue to avoid it.

I want to tell you that when the Colitis was active, it was pure hell.

Early next month I have to go in for another colonoscopy to make sure that things are still fully in remission. It has been three years since I had one and I have resisted for as long as I can. I have all that nasty stuff that I have to drink ready to go, but I am sure dreading this. LOL, I also don't want to incur the wrath of my wife if I don't do it.

Great news, Paco.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Keto diet. My nephew's been following it for over a year and says he feels healthier at 45 than he did when he was 25.
