Would you live in a haunted house

I don't believe in ghosts either, this was some kind of entity attached to that area. It was a rotten thing. My parents never talked about it and neither did I but we all must have had some interaction with it since the priest came every so often. I don't think blessing the house did anything. We ignored it for the most part. I'm thinking more that we created it with all the energy amongst us. We came from hot-blooded people.

LOL, they might be good company.

When I bought an ancient German made clock in Spain, the guy who had it claimed that it came with an associated friendly ghost. I thought, sounds good, but he would not speculate if the ghost would transfer with me when I returned for a stateside tour of duty.

The ghost may have come with me to Monterey Ca, and maybe on to Hawaii, but I am pretty certain that it drew the line against going to Korea.

Toast The Ghosts: Haunted houses? Phfft! How about a haunted tunnel. We have one with quite ahistory of ghost;y stories. I once rode to the tunnel to toast the ghosts or, more truthfully, raise a glass to the 200 men who died there using a beer with the same name. It was the result of a dare and a bet (that I couldn't find a beer of the same name, take it to the tunnel and toast the ghosts). We took a picture honoring the event.

For the record, I don't drink and drive/ride so we christened the mouth of the tunnel with the beer. Also for the record, it is not a good idea to go into the tunnel, which could be like Russian roulette given the lack of setbacks in the wall and uncertain train times. When a train does enter the tunnel from the other end, it can push fog out the entrance above in a way that looks ghostly.

Apologies for hijacking the haunted house thread.

My cousin lived alone and had little contact with family. He was somewhat of a hermit. He died and no one knew until after 2 weeks, the odor emanating from the residence gave a clue as to what happened. It was a rented property so I'm sure it was rented again. Whew! A neighbor down the street died under the same circumstances too and the house was sold to another.

I think I heard of this place and the deaths quite a while back..nice shot, BTW.

I used to live near this house-

They made a movie out of the rumor it was "haunted". A good friend of mine and her husband bought it after they married and turned it into a beautiful home! I mean gorgeous!

No funny stuff, no ghosts, nothing a all. It was all a hoax perpetrated in part by the quasi ghost hunters, Ed and Lorraine Warren. I met them a few times at the bookstore where I worked. They were friends of the store owner.

It seems to me that ghosts are purely figments of our imaginations. Otherwise, why do they wear clothes? If we were to conjure up images of naked old people in our minds, now that would be scary!

That said, I have a very vivid imagination and can imagine all sorts of weird things late at night while trying to fall asleep, like there's an intruder creeping up the stairs when I hear the little creaks and groans the house makes when it settles, and he's creeping up for hours like it's some kind of treadmill staircase, yet I'll lay there listening — afraid to go to sleep.

But that was years ago. My doctor put me on paroxetine about 15 years ago to help with my neurosis. It's gotten my irrational fears under control. Now I can actually sleep at night. The tradeoff is, it killed my sex drive and my orgasms are now anticlimactic, so to speak. I know, I know — too much information!!!

I've never seen nor heard ghosts or good/bad spirits. But I can assure you that doesn't mean they aren't there. I have 2 dogs that I have observed as their eyes have followed them on 3 occasions...in sync. The spirits moved along the upper edges of the ceiling and corners while both dog's heads watched them moving...both their heads and eyes moved in the same direction along the ceiling at the same time and occasionally stopping in the corners briefly...very quietly and slowly.

My daughter and I watched together as my Beagle all of a sudden acted as if the spirit had thrown something at him to scare him. He jump back, feet off the floor then down and slid back...very frightened by it.

This happened last winter. I have never seen nor necessarily believed in ghosts before...though I have never dismissed others who have.
My Bible told me to say "I command you, in the name of Jesus Christ, to leave." Acts 16:18. I did that and the dogs followed with their eyes as they left. They returned 2 more times and each time I quoted the Bible's command...and each time they left immediately. They've never returned.

Awful, just awful people. I was disappointed at how awful they were at my encounter with them. I had liked their books. Almost wish I never met them.

No way....I'd start hearing and seeing things.

And then everybody would get tired of me telling them about it..lol

Eta: I used to hear stuff in this house all the time after my parents died.
I'd hear them in the kitchen in the morning, cupboards closing, the fridge opening and closing.

I guess it was residule energy, or something.

Actually, I'm confident 'the dead know nothing'

So, it's just evil angels
Lara and I know how to deal with that
