Toast The Ghosts: Haunted houses? Phfft! How about a haunted tunnel. We have one with quite a
history of ghost;y stories. I once rode to the tunnel to toast the ghosts or, more truthfully, raise a glass to the 200 men who died there using a beer with the same name. It was the result of a dare and a bet (that I couldn't find a beer of the same name, take it to the tunnel and toast the ghosts). We took a picture honoring the event.
For the record, I don't drink and drive/ride so we christened the mouth of the tunnel with the beer. Also for the record, it is not a good idea to go into the tunnel, which could be like Russian roulette given the lack of setbacks in the wall and uncertain train times. When a train does enter the tunnel from the other end, it can push fog out the entrance above in a way that looks ghostly.
Apologies for hijacking the haunted house thread.
