Take this with the fact of how many speakers at our universities have been booed off the stage if their content is different than what the students see as the way to think. Patients running the asylum.

This person is free to speak as she chooses. The Yale Medical School is also free to not invite such speakers. BTW I don't think she should be banned from practice or otherwise penalized for saying what she thinks. It's just an indicator of the current climate.
One of the ironies is that, as an Iranian, she is classified by the US Census Bureau as "white".

Don't have the specifics but I was told by a high school teacher that during the graduation ceremony (this was last year)
all students and faculty were TOLD TO TURN THEIR BACK ON THE AMERICAN fLAG!
Only five teachers and no students walked out and refused to oblige. All others were held by fear of losing their jobs or not graduating.
THAT WAS SCARY!

This woman sounds like a raving lunatic. She may have fantasies about herself; even though she is white, she clearly doesn't consider herself to be. You can see that in these few sentences:
“White people are out of their minds, and they have been for a long time … White people feel that we are bullying them when we bring up race,” she said.
“They feel that we should be thanking them for all that they have done for us. They are confused, and so are we."
So then, what does she think she is?
She does have freedom of speech, but people also have the freedom to walk out. I suspect that if her audience stayed put, it was because they were waiting for her to arrive at some level of sanity before the end of the talk. And probably many of them were shocked.
And what was Yale thinking, inviting someone like this to give a speech?

Her follow up Twitter comment is even more telling about this woman. She laughs at the idea of so many people getting upset over fantasy versus action. Oh boy.

It takes one sick and twisted individual to fantasize about such, but it really takes one sick and demented individual to actually stand up in front of an audience and spew their malign and cankerous thoughts in the manner that she did.
What do you propose society rewards individuals like this with, JimBob?
A trophy?
A badge?
A raise?
A paid weekend getaway anywhere of their choice?
A pat on the back... job well done?
A little praise, tell her what a hero she is, what a magnificent speech it was?
Appoint her to an esteemed position at the top?
A custom fabricated handgun in a custom designed exotic wooden presentation box?
That's what is known as a "Captive Audience". You have to listen to it or leave when you would rather not leave.

What she was saying is what is known as a "Thought crime", no intended criminal action, only here it was vocalized. Criminal in nature, probably not, since it was "Fantasizing".

My mother was a major personality disorder. I have no knowledge of any potential diagnosis regarding this individual in question, however enabled behavior is something I'm familiar with. They will do and get by with what they are allowed to do and get by with. My mother never exhibited her behavior around my bio-dad. She would not have got by with it.
I understand you are the OP of this started thread, JimBob, but what I'm having a difficult time digesting is the point you made related to the shrink saying what she thinks with no recourse.
If you stood up in front of an audience and in your speech threatened bodily harm on the president of the United States of North America, would your speech be accepted and tolerated? Would there not be fallout as a result of?
My guess is there'd be fallout, and fast, too, because just last year the boom came down on an individual threatening our PM with harm, and the police rounded him up pronto.
So what makes it any different or gives the shrink the right (carte blanche) to openly exclaim... "I had fantasies of unloading a revolver into the head of any white person that got in my way, burying their body and wiping my bloody hands as I walked away relatively guiltless with a bounce in my step"?
What gives her the right to carry on exempt from any/all recourse? What gives her the right to move forward in a society already plagued by violence, when if it were you or I talking that way, chances are good, we'd be apprehended, detained, questioned?
She is supposedly a professional. Has society folded and turned to accepting this type of behaviour from people as a whole? Where do we draw the line?
Regardless of what was at stake, Ohio, I would have walked out, and I also would have contacted the police.
And what should the police do, and why? What's the actual crime?

I'm very conscious about involving police and diverting their attention from dangerous crimes
I'm sure the Campus Police were there, if things started getting ugly, they would interevene.

Probably nothing, but that wouldn't deter me from filing a report.
