Given the choice of anyone in the world, who would you want as a dinner guest?

I'd pick John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival. I read his autobiography a few years ago, and in it he talked a bit about the inspiration for his songs, but I'd like to learn more about his creative process and where those songs came from. To me, that would be fascinating.

This would be a very tough choice for me. I would have to break the question down to categories first: Actors, Musicians, Authors, Politicians, it would be very tough to pick a single individual out of all of them.

I need some time with this.

Glenn Gould (1932-1982)

Few pianists have ever achieved such a cult following as the elusive Canadian Glenn Gould, one of the greatest pianists of all time, and the greatest Canadian classical pianist ever.

His eclectic brilliance of thought, his fascinating character, his repertoire huge, as was the quantity of his recordings, it is for his Bach playing that he is best remembered today.

He was a genius.

I would turn-out a most incredible meal for Glenn, and he would play for me.

The world was robbed far too early with the loss of Gould.

I know this is no surprise for anyone who has dropped into my latest frustrating thread regarding the mental health crisis in our country as well as worldwide, BUT...

1. I would invite Jeff Bezos who has pledged 2 billion dollars to homelessness but that's only pennies compared to his 200 Billion dollar worth, largely helped by the pandemic :(, and not enough to accomplish the goal. I would want to talk to him about that and try to convince him to redirect some of his wealth that he is hurling into the solar system to help this mental crisis on our own planet and save humanity from killing each other. Our species kills more of our own kind than any other species.

2. I would invite my friend Jesus for support and to add a little joy love peace patience kindness and self-control...plus I have a few questions for him as well...like, why can't we communicate with our pets and primates ☺️ Actually I know the answer to that...that would just level the playing field when we are meant to be superior...and we'd argue a lot...next thing you know they'd be asking us to buy them a car :ROFLMAO:

Elon Musk would never come because he's an introvert and hell-bent on doing things his own way but he has signed to pledge 50% of his income for Bill Gate's charity...Jeff Bezos hasn't. In fact Bezos is the only one of the top 4 richest men in the country who has not. And Jeff Bezos is the one most likely to be the first man to make a Trillion dollars....in the not-so-distant- future.

Wow, hard to choose.
  • Anderson Cooper. Intelligent and very, very funny when interviewed. His stories about his mom, Gloria Vanderbilt Cooper, are hysterical.

  • Judi Dench. What an amazing career she's had!

  • Neil deGrasse Tyson. Astrophysicist, author, and a scientist who's excellent at explaining science to the average person.

If we were including those who are no longer living:
  • Shirley Chisholm, that rare politician whom I admire whole-heartedly.
  • Jules Verne, chosen as one of the ten top sci-fi authors who wrote accurately about the future that was to be. Imagine what he'd be able to write about today!

Too many to choose just one from. I think that Michio Kaku would be fascinating to have as a dinner guest.

I'd like to have Janis Ian as a lunch guest sometime...

I would choose a musician or singer. I was leaning towards Suzanne Vega because I've enjoyed her music most over the years. I was also thinking of Liz Phair because I love her music as well. However while writing that I realized I'd probably invite Juliana Hatfield because she is a rather private person and I'd be interested in conversing with her in a more private setting. I'm not sure if she'd accept an invitation for dinner though.

My husband would be happy if I invited President Biden and vice-president Kamala Harris. I would enjoy meeting Matthew Gubler from Criminal minds and most of all my family members.
