I do understand that. Some places have electronic counters that show how many times a button or lever was pushed. At Mc, evidentially not.

How is it self serve if it's behind the counter where she's not allowed and where the employees won't allow her to request 3 flavors?

Why didn't she just buy three different ones and
mix them herself, maybe small or medium sizes
in large cups?

It's not that simple - Normally the slushie machines are programmed to dispense a standard amount for each button (small/medium/large - Portion control is king at fast food shops). So if you try to put 3 flavors in, that's 3 standard amounts, and thy cup runneth over. They are not like the slushie machines at 7-11 that is just an on/off switch, and allows you to dispense as much or as little as you want.

p.s. - the local McDonalds only has 2 flavors of slushies

Not sure it has anything to do with McD's except there are so many of them. Over 14,000 just in the US.

And this situation is a little different in that the employee apparently struck the customer first.

yes well the similarity is that it was in MCDonalds ( as we're talking about McDonalds on this thread) , and the woman went berserk completely OTT in response to the employees actions.....and the police thought enough of it too that she's still on a wanted list!!

I don't know if you have fast food places in the UK but here in the US food service workers are thought of as stupid and basically bottom barrel. People treat them like crap. I don't know if it happens more in McDonald's because there's so many or because the prices are usually lower than some of the others maybe.

Marci..we have McDonalds here too.. as well as Burger King , KFC.. and many others.... chinese, Italian, Greek.. not even including our own Thousands of Fish & Chip shops... all Fast food places

I have never witnessed anyone in any fast food place being demeaned as stupid..( I even worked in a fast food place myself many years ago)...

True, the customer's reaction to the employee's assault was extreme, and she should be held accountable, and the employee should be charged with assault per the video if the customer will come forward to press charges, which is not likely.
