Something you won’t see very often. Check it out…………………….
For those of you who don't understand the BIG, DRY "rivers" here

in the Southwest and west and the cautions associated with them, watch this!

Oh yeah. Here in ABQ & other SW cities there are arroyos, paved channels that run downhill from the mountains (here the Sandias) to the rivers, here the Rio Grande, & it could be dry & sunny in town with huge storm on mts, & those dry channels become raging torrents. Foolhardy souls like to skateboard etc in the dry arroyos, causing the need for swift water rescues as the surge runs through town.

I've seen that happen here. Not a dry creek though, we were swimming on a sunny day. Some of the adults heard the roar and knew what it was and made everyone get out of the water. We were standing on a high bank when first we heard the roar and then a wall of water about 3 feet or more higher than the water level of the creek came rushing through. It was fascinating to watch.

Hey, Geezerette -- I'm in Albuquerque, too.

If one of those people tripped when running away in
front of that lot, there wouldn't be much left of them
afterwards.

Mike.

This is nothing. St.George Utah loses entire houses, autos about every 5th year or so.
