More to the point, would you want to ? The idea of living in this kind of weather literally gives my o/h the heeby jeebies ... he shudders at the thought, and can't understand it at all.. whereas I'm from the north, and I wouldn't mind living in such a cold place.. as long as I have all the necessary equipment for warmth...

As long as the TV worked OK, and there was always a plentiful supply of fuel for heating, and Sainsburys delivered food regularly, and I had a nice lady to snuggle up to...............................well, I'd give it serious thought. :)

no..lol...there's no Sainsbo....much less delivery , and you have to go and get your own fuel for heating....

Did you know that most people can't turn their car engines off even when the car is parked up.. for fear the fuel and batteries freeze.. and they will within 30 minutes..

No! I am originally from Louisiana but spent more of my life in Florida, and I used to think our winters were cold. As a kid I remember one morning when the birdbath froze over, I could not believe that cold. Now I live in Northern Utah where its even colder, but no where near -60 C!

Not far from here is a place, Peter Sinks, where temperatures do get quite cold, as low as -56 C, but I stay away from there, in winter anyway. https://climate.usu.edu/PeterSinks/index.php

I would try it for a while just for the experience but not permanently. I'm an outdoor type and get cabin fever easily. The coldest it ever was here was -20 F for a day or two. My car barely started and never really warmed up. I once went ice fishing at -3 F, again just to see what it was like. The whole froze over almost immediately. I lasted about 10 minutes.
