I'm not sure what process you go through to create your greatly entertaining work, but a lot of mine is through loose association.

For example, when I saw this cartoon, it made me think of something a nurse said after working on a really difficult unit:

"Hell would have been a vacation!"

I just took it from there.

But mostly draw on some fun I had back in the '90s, on a now defunct site called Motifake

Larson is great. As was Schultz, and is Piraro, Peters, and Watterson!

Working with patients diagnosed with schizophrenia really broadened my horizons into, with all due respect, insane humor. Their perception of reality was sometimes hilariously skewed, and, at times caused me to laugh 'til I cried.

I could go on and on until the cows come home, but won't.
