On todays news, they said that the Taliban is actively searching for those who assisted the U.S. an/or British forces.
It was entirely possible for the U.S. to help our friends escape to a safe nation BEFORE we suddenly pulled out without a care in the world for our friends. I'm deeply ashamed.
It's going to be a horribly bloody scene.

Not only the British/US forces, 100 Afghanis who assisted the NZ forces are being flown to New Zealand in the next week. I wouldn't say it was without a care inthe World.
quote:

"The Taliban’s rapid advance

The collapse of Afghanistan’s armed forces was precipitated by the U.S. withdrawal from the country after a two-decade intervention. The Taliban began expanding its grip on the country after agreeing to a peace deal with the Trump administration early last year. As the New York Times noted last week, the Taliban kept some of the commitments it made to the U.S. in that deal — but essentially only the ones that allowed the U.S. to avoid casualties among its own forces as it withdrew. The Afghans were, almost from the beginning, already on their own:"

This is NOT going to end well. The Taliban are blocking airport access to not only Afghans, but also US citizens. Helicopters are being used to try to pick up people who can't get to the airport. I won't be surprised if there is a armed confrontation between the Taliban and our military in coming days that will induce even more chaos.

It's looking more and more like our "leaders" in Washington severely misjudged this takeover by the Taliban, and were NOT prepared to react in time.

our friends

Those you call "our friends" are called traitors in Afghanistan. As such they face the executioner just as they would in any other country. It's the price you pay for committing treason, especially when it leads to the death of thousands of your countrymen. Had their loyalty been to their land rather than to the puppet regime imposed by the West, they would not be facing any troubles today.

Here is the real Afghan slaughter and the reason why the patriotic Taliban won:

During the war in Afghanistan (2001–present), over 47,245 civilians, 66,000 to 69,000 Afghan military and police and more than 51,000 Taliban fighters have been killed as of April 2021. Overall the war has killed 171,000 to 174,000 people in Afghanistan. However, the death toll is possibly higher due to unaccounted deaths by "disease, loss of access to food, water, infrastructure, and/or other indirect consequences of the war." The Cost of War project estimated that the number who have died through indirect causes related to the war may be as high as 360,000 additional people based on a ratio of indirect to direct deaths in contemporary conflicts. These numbers do not include those who have died in Pakistan in the related war in North-West Pakistan.

The imperialist invaders killed all those people and did not make many friends there. No surprise why the people remained loyal to the Taliban ~ it's their country, their government, their way of life. Like it or not, the Western imperialists had no right to invade and occupy that land.

The problem with that statement is, we're still there, helping people get out. How can we have "pulled out without a care in the world" when all you need to do is turn on the news and watch our military airlifting people out of there and they've said we're not leaving until everyone is out? How can those two statements be true? Is it all just a big hoax? Perhaps CGI generated animations of our military loading up C-17s with people and flying them out? Is that what's going on? I don't use Facebook, so maybe I'm out of the loop.

The agreement the U.S. made with the Taliban was negotiated with the Taliban with no input from the Afghanistan government. It used to be our policy that we wouldn't negotiate with terrorists, but that changed somewhere along the line. Some of us were shocked to see our leaders posing with Osama Bin Laden-looking characters, who looked naked without their AK-47s. Then again, it was the American Taliban posing with the Afghan Taliban — not to be confused with a Taliban afghan, which is a blanket.

Their government, when they had one, was rated as one of the most corrupt in the world. A few years ago, it was the number one, most corrupt, but now it's third. Their military was also completely corrupted and grossly incompetent, so it's understandable that it would collapse as soon as U.S. support was pulled out like a house made of cards.

China will come to the Taliban's aid. They will attempt to make friends with the Taliban, offer trade and help. I expect they will be successful.
Initially, they'll both be happy - money for the Taliban, roads and minerals for China. But I'm pretty sure it'll be a short honeymoon. Both the CCP and the Taliban love control equally. And eventually, the CCP will expect a show of gratitude in some form, but they'll never get that from the Taliban.

I continue to pray for our fellow Americans to come home safely. The Afghans that acted as friends by supplying information and intel should also be taken to a safe place.

It really upset me that the equipment that was left behind was not first not first removed and the forts that were built by American soldiers were not destroyed.

How easy this would have been to leave efficiently and still protect American property. Who was in charge of this mess?
