Alert! You're about to read over-the-top-crazy LOVE and devotion. You ask, does cooking take too long? I even spend a half an hour preparing the dog's food...mostly fresh homemade.
I make, for the dogs, batches of steamed broccoli chopped, baked sweet potato diced, chopped up rotisserie chicken (I freeze extra), a little canned beef with lentils from Whole Foods, and pour warm low salt chicken bouillon over all in the same bowl. Then I top it with a little half a homemade Peanut Butter cookie...no white flour (instead I use half coconut flour and half almond flour).
They eat it all within a few minutes. But they have no more allergies or health issues. So, it's worth it. Don't worry, I also cook for myself and my family when they visit and holidays.
I love seeing them happy...well worth the effort...but I can't deny that I wish I could just wave a wand.
