What Brand and Type of Cell Phone Do You Have Now?

Android, Motorola E5 Play. I rarely send a text, don't use it for much more than phone calls. I do have a few apps I loaded and use, Simply Walking which measures distance and shows your route, usually use it on vacation. A couple of public radio apps in case I want to listen to an interesting show while walking the dog. I've taken some pics and tested the video feature, but don't use that much. I'm technically challenged, so the simpler the better. :) I don't do anything financial or important on my cell phone.

A Samsung something. i've always been ambivalent about cell phones, hell i don't even leave the ringer on my landline on 24/7/365. Generally don't do internet via the phone. The last few months i have accessed my GMail on it because of a couple of ongoing things i want to be alerted to quickly. However, once those issues resolved i'll probably see about deleting the App.

One of the reasons i don't do everything on the phone, and only use it calls, texts and occasionally for photos, videos of unexpected photo ops is that i am so ambivalent about both being 'connected' and findable 24/7/365 that i almost always turn it off at night. Last summer i didn't when son and grandson were on way here overnight. i frequently misplace it and daughter has to call it for us to find it.

To me it is a sometimes useful tool, other times just another annoyance with spam callers interrupting chores or relaxation time.

We're still holding out to be the only people in America without one. My husband has noticed that all the homeless people who come into the food bank where he volunteers have cell phones.
I got my first Tracfone for emergency use only. When I go out alone, it's good to be able to contact my husband if I need to, and the other way around. They can come in handy for some things, but I'm not someone who walks around looking down at their phone all day, was never that comfortable using it and don't have that desire or need. I never visit forums on the phone, I wait until I'm home and use my laptop or desktop.

What I like about my Samsung Note 20 ultra & all other cell phones is they have a "calendar" in them. So now when I go to a doctor's office, I can look up & tell them no on that date I have another appointment. It saves having to come home & look on the wall calendar & call them back & change the appointment.

My GK's got me to texting. So I changed the ring tone for the text message to a long juicy fart. Interesting looks when sitting in Dr's offices or church when they text me. They are sitting right next to me. šŸ˜

Samsung Galaxy A01. Before that flip phones. But I wanted to text with my daughters and it's a pain on those phones so. ... I hardly use it for much more than that and for when I'm out of the house.

Ha, ha! I have a nice little alcatel flip phone with unlimited Canada wide calling. I don't have time to fool around with those "wonderful" smart/dumb phones. I studied the matter before getting my flip and found out that the smart/dumb phones are little computers that allow you to do those wonderful things like keep checking your e-mail, using GPS, checking Facebook or Twitter all day long. Well, I have a life "all day long". I check my e-mail, the news and this site once/day and then get on with my life.

Don't see any sense in paying a $1,000 bucks for some "thing-a-ma-jig" that gonna cause me frustration, heartburn and just get me darn mad! I guess I'm going against the grain again because everybody and his dog seems to have those phones. I just like to be thinking for myself. Hey, I can text with my flip phone but I don't like to. Guess I don't really like to talk on the phone unless it is to make an appointment or some other necessary business. I'm a kind of face-to-face guy!

We still mostly use the landline. Our daughter bought us both i-phones a few years ago. About the time I get it partially figured out, along comes an "upgrade" that completely changes the whole thing.
I look at it when I am having breakfast to see the weather forecast and some news.

We have never owned a laptop, we have his and hers desktops on his and hers desks.

Who did this as a child? It worked as long as you kept the string taught. It was useless for texting though.
Me and my siblings had one of those and it was the envy of all our friends because the cans were conical. One of the ranch-hands was a metal worker and he made them for us. They worked great! And, thinking back now, yeah, we spent hours on those things every day...they were addictive! :D

Ron has an iPhone XR, and I have an iPhone 11. I upgrade my phone every couple years, but stay a couple generations behind the current model. I save hundreds of dollars on the purchase that way. I buy refurbished directly from the Apple site or local store so itā€™s under full warranty, though Iā€™ve never had a problem in all the years Iā€™ve been buying all my Apple products that way.
That's good to know that the refurbished ones are reliable. I've thought of getting one of those before.

I still have a landline, too. My brother laughs that I still have one like I'm the only one on earth who still has one..lol..I know I'm not and you are proof of that! I've never had a laptop either and have a desk top pc.

Cool. Mine is a Moto G Stylus. I'm liking it. It's better in some ways than my old LG that I still have. I have to have the LG disconnected by the end of this year due to the cell phone provider switching networks and trying to require me to buy one of their newer phones. They didn't have one I liked at a good price so I got a new network and phone on Mon.

I've never tried Simply Walking yet. I don't usually take my phone with me when I walk doggie. I should though and may when I have a pocket to put it in. I don't do financial things on my cell either. I'm scared to yet...lol

I like my moto with the stylus because it's easier on the wrist. I was specifically looking for a phone with a stylus that was included inside of it and found it at Metro (t-mobile).

I put mine in a cargo pant pocket, pocket tee shirt or jacket pocket. I have measured walks in the neighborhood parks too, but just once to get an idea of how far a walk is with my dog. Here's the link if you're interested, it's free.
