I broke my ankle at work 3 weeks ago

Surgery was cancelled four times until finally my operation was referred to another hospital.
Surgery involved a bone graft, four screws and a plate. The surgery was eight days ago now.
Three days after the surgery, my leg seemed to be hurting more than it should and as the days went by
it became painful to simply rest my leg on the raised pillows.
Decided to go and see my Doctor and upon inspection it was discovered that my shin had an infection causing
noted discolouration and tenderness. A course of antibiotics was prescribed.

Sorry to hear that, @Bretrick. My wife is in the hospital right now with a similar issue. She's having surgery tomorrow for bone infection. :(

Good luck to you. Get well soon. (y)

Not good enough. Infection in the joints is not a trivial matter.

I'd start threatening them with a law suit if you suffer any long lasting effects. It's amazing how quickly they sharpen up when you do that. You may need to go back into hospital to be hooked up to an IV and a drain to fix the problem.

Yes. Still paining greatly. Comes in waves.
No fever, headache or other signs of Sepsis as yet

This is a sad situation, I hate to hear that a hospital is not
up to standard, I hope that the antibiotics caught it in time
Bretrick, but I would suggest that you listen to Warrigal and
at least call them.

Mike.
