Anyone else think a large asteroid Hitting the Earth would be easier than dealing with our current existence?

I sometimes think I am the only person thinking like this but I see people getting angry about things they don’t even know anything about, if you are in one Political Party you need to openly hate everyone and everything the “other” Party Says or stands for. Everything is a “fake” news, story or facts (which used to just mean things that we all thought of as true). Up is down and black is white.
Humans has a good run but it may be time for a new dominant species on this planet!

As long as the wealthy, and myopic wealth seekers, with all their corporate, media, military, and political power control the increasingly overpopulated world, we homo sapiens are indeed on a doomed path. To change that path will be very difficult for a list of nearly impossible to change reasons.

The human world has emerged from local regional entities into a long list of independent nations. Each nation with different languages, religions, morals, cultures, history, goals, and economic situations. Because of that, the United Nations was formed however that organization has no way to effectively globally enforce differences. Weapons of mass destruction and their increasing proliferation is now a constant threat to not only humanity but also what 4 billion years of organic DNA Earth life has evolved. A nuclear war contaminating much the planet with long half-life radioactive debris could set back our world, hundreds of millions of years.

IMO it is possible our world is actually a zoo for a race of ultimate intelligent entities that prefer not to interfere and if so they may at some point step in, not for the sake of we humans but for the rest of Earth life, either totally eliminating us or selectively filtering out all those with behaviors dooming us. I very much believe it is within many of us to live in a sustainable, peaceful, content, fulfilling way in harmony with the rest of the life on our rare blue water planet that among the vast universe of astronomical stars and worlds would be considered a heaven for organic entities.

It won't take an Asteroid to upend our world....present human activity will create such a result....and not too far into the future. The combination of Climate Change And Overpopulation will bring much of humanity to the brink....and probably before this century ends. Globally, 1/4 of the population is already living in poverty, and that number will continue to increase. As fresh water becomes increasingly scarce, agriculture will decrease in many locales, and starvation will become a greater problem.

Political upheaval and corruption, and increasing crime will lead to more mass migrations from the undeveloped nations to the more stable countries. Millions more will be trying to migrate from South/Central America, into the U.S. and Canada....and an increasing flow of
Africans into Europe will create major social issues.

We are rapidly reaching a point where the next war will Not be nation vs. nation, But rather the Have's vs. the Have Nots.

I agree; I keep hearing that the next war(s) won't be for oil or land anymore, it'll be for food and water.

Though I agree with these doomy forecasts, I think it is important to not "adopt" an apathetic attitude towards moving forward. My thinking is to live as best I can, without harming my environment (as much as possible), and to remember this might be the only chance I will experience existence. I want to appreciate what IS.

This is a painting of mine. I don't think our planet is doomed...yet.
We all just need to do our part...but man's sin nature will always
be a hindrance for coming together.

The quote at the bottom I've credited to Hooey who was an environmentalist.
I just thought it added clarification as to what my painting was all about...
...restoring the earth, which I started painting before adding the quote.

I omitted from the quote, "...I'll use no more of earth's resources than I need...."
I was running out of room at the bottom but I really wish I had the room for it.
I know it looks like there is room but visually I wanted the lettering
to appear as a solid "band" across the bottom for a firm foundation & balance.

Maybe someone will invent an affordable desalination process? When we were kids didn't old people expect us to all starve to death from over-population? But instead food productivity increased or something. I thought the statistics are rather the other direction, that more and more people around the world are in less need? And that modern engineering solutions are helping poor communities with water and with healthier heating/cooking extremely affordable gadgets.
We are a very flexible species, even if a large number of us were to die from global warming weather/flooding/food disruption events, I'm pretty sure we'd bounce back.
I just wish there were better political systems and no facebook, ha ha.

IMO, The third World War will annihilate a great deal of civilization. It will not be a long war, but pretty horrid.

The one way civilization can grow is to change thought completely! When the populous learns to utilize strong, powerful thought in a constructive way, amazing things will happen! ( we probably won't be here then)

That's actually in the sci fi book Lucifer's Hammer! ...only it's a comet, but same result. The protagonist interviewed people for documentaries about the approaching comet and was surprised at how many people were excited about the impending disaster.

As for the title ...Earth would benefit in the long run from a human level asteroid extinction event.

Personally, I'd welcome a large asteroid with open arms, but I doubt that's going to happen. What concerns me is that we're devolving into fascism (not to get political) and I'm on the losing end of that transition, or at least the non-profitable end. It makes me consider thinking of ways to profit from the darkness and life in shadows but that would take too much effort. I'm armed, in case anyone tries to intrude into my domicile, and other than that, I'll just sit drinking vodka and tonics while watching concerts on YouTube or videos.

At least 3 Likes re: your "fascism" comment.

NASA appears to be concerned about the possibility of an asteroid impact. The news, tonight, said that NASA is preparing to launch a vehicle that will crash into a far away asteroid to see if they can deflect it. They must know something disturbing.

Our current existence is a picnic in paradise compared to what is coming.
Don't worry.
Soak it in.
Love it.
Appreciate it.
Enjoy it.
And be glad you're alive today.
