Talking on the phone

Some people love to, people like myself do not. Why? I don't know, it kind of bothers me, makes me think I've got some kind of "hermit DNA"...maybe I do. 🤔

When the phone rings I jump like there was just a gunshot, I can tell you why that is: back with my ex who trashed our(MY) credit, and then having non-stop bill collectors calling and making threats and harassment. That was almost 30 years ago, but I still jump to this day. 😐

But yea, I just loathe calls, except from my son, who only calls maybe once a month, and talks 10 minutes or so.

My daughters and I can easily talk for 1.5 hours, usually more.

A couple of friends & I can do the same. I’m so thankful for cordless phones.

DH talks to his sons on a weekly basis. A very lengthy call would be 10 minutes, once it went for 15.

Texting is great to send a quick message without having to bother with excess chat when we’re busy.

Yes, that describes me, too.

I could be sitting on my rump for an hour doing nothing until I get a phone call. Then, suddenly, I feel like I have a million things to do, and I gotta go do them now.

Unfortunately,0% of the calls we get are robo calls. Auto Warranty, Medicare, credit card, etc.
I never get those calls because I have a spam blocking sytem in place on my landline..and I rarely give my mobile phone number to anyone other than family, friends or business contacts

I can talk for ages on the phone, but I never make a call with the intention of doing so..I'm just as happy talking for 5 minutes as I am for 50 ... mins

My daughter, and my friends and I WhatsApp throughout the day but usually once a week , my daughter will ring for about 1/2hour or 45 minutes to chat..and sometimes if she has something quick to tell me she'll call to speak on her way home from work..

I have never been what I call a 'phone person" and I hate these cell phones even more. My phone will ring and it takes me forever to slide whatever it is to get it to answer. Now my boyfriend is a phone person and if it wasn't for him I would never use mine except for appointments. I just put it on speaker and he can talk to me all he wants.

I don't like texting either. I prefer email.

I don't like talking on the phone. I'm not one to go on and on in a phone call, like to say what I called about or hear what someone else is calling about, and end the call. I have calls a few times a year with family and I enjoy those, but once we're caught up and no more to say, I like to end the call. I don't like to hear my phone ring, usually scammers and spammers. I never got comfortable enough with my cell phone to walk around in public chatting with anyone, if I have to call my husband from a store or something to ask him a question, I step off to the side away from people and make it brief.

Most of my phone conversations are less than 15 minutes but can be an hour or so with people who are close to me. Business calls are always as brief as possible. Most robo calls now have a do not call button that I wait for and press. Any ad calls I ask if they're calling about my camel and have a conversation about that, or else I just keep saying hi and hello until they quit and hang up.

All my regular calls are to and from my land line through Google Voice, but the all the spam calls go to my land line. I don't use a cell phone.
