I also hate olives. Can't imagine them in egg salad!I like an egg salad now, but for some reason my mother diced up olives into the mix, I can't abide eating an olive to this day, maybe because I tried to eat the pimento once, that was nasty as sin! BLT by far my favorite.
Well I do have to concur the bacon is the crack cocaine of sandwiches. But, who dreamed up the word: "Sub," to define a sandwich? They are definitely on bacon, or whatever drug it is that causes word distortion. There’s not one sandwich that I can really say I like and the worst part is that I have one for lunch almost every day.
Like those too, except prefer it on rye, pumpernickel or what the delicatessens in NJ and NY called Russian Black bread (actually an extremely dark brown not quite Black). One of those things i can't eat too much of anymore without complaints from my digestive tract.Liverwurst, slices of onion, mustard, on white bread.
I think it has to do with shape of those sandwiches. The bread resembles a submarine. Also resembles cigars but that would not be appetizing at all.Well I do have to concur the bacon is the crack cocaine of sandwiches. But, who dreamed up the word: "Sub," to define a sandwich? As an adult I loved Liverwurst, slices of onion & mustard. I don't recall what I had for lunch in grade school, probably PB&L or baloney & cheese.Liverwurst, slices of onion, mustard, on white bread.
Apparently.Yoo Hoo, Oh God, I have not had one of those in ages. Do they still even make those?

I prefer it on brown or black bread now, too. Only one son likes liverwurst, after the kids spent their toddler years eating it. And now he's a vegan.Like those too, except prefer it on rye, pumpernickel or what the delicatessens in NJ and NY called Russian Black bread (actually an extremely dark brown not quite Black). Pre-Covid whenever we went to the city i'd annoy the deli counter people in chain stores by getting just 2 thick slices of Braunschweiger. Maybe 1/3 of pound. But i have this thing about wasting food, drummed into me as a kid. And i'm the only one in house who likes liverwurst.
I could eat chopped liver all day.As I grew older, chopped chicken liver with onion on rye bread. Made at my favorite deli in NYC.
For me a summer favorite is a BAT--Bacon, Avocado and Tomato on a dark bread or a roll of some kind preferably.BLT with a half pound of bacon
