Sandwiches

Liverwurst, slices of onion, mustard, on white bread.
Like those too, except prefer it on rye, pumpernickel or what the delicatessens in NJ and NY called Russian Black bread (actually an extremely dark brown not quite Black). One of those things i can't eat too much of anymore without complaints from my digestive tract.

Pre-Covid whenever we went to the city i'd annoy the deli counter people in chain stores by getting just 2 thick slices of Braunschweiger. Maybe 1/3 of pound. But i have this thing about wasting food, drummed into me as a kid. And i'm the only one in house who likes liverwurst.

Well I do have to concur the bacon is the crack cocaine of sandwiches. But, who dreamed up the word: "Sub," to define a sandwich? They are definitely on bacon, or whatever drug it is that causes word distortion.
I think it has to do with shape of those sandwiches. The bread resembles a submarine. Also resembles cigars but that would not be appetizing at all.

When I was in grammar school I loved American cheese with slices of pickles on the gooiest white bread which was usually Bond or Wonder bread. I took that to school everyday for 3 years straight. Any variation and my mom heard about it when I got home.
My latest favorite is tuna, swiss cheese and bacon, I need a pickle on the side and a few chips. Hot tea, never iced to go with the sandwich.

Yoo Hoo, Oh God, I have not had one of those in ages. Do they still even make those?
Apparently.

Not exactly healthy, though.

I prefer it on brown or black bread now, too. Only one son likes liverwurst, after the kids spent their toddler years eating it. And now he's a vegan.

I’ve just eaten half of a bloomer with the insides pulled out (given to the birds) filled with prawn cocktail and paprika and lemon........yummy....🙂
