The storms missed us

Last night, about 8PM, we were expecting to be impacted by the strong winds that were hitting all around the Midwest. We did have about 1/2 hour of strong winds, and a little rain, but it passed quickly. This morning, all I see is some small tree limbs scattered around the yard....perhaps enough to fill the wheelbarrow. However, there are reports of power outages and downed trees, etc., in several of the larger towns North of us. We got lucky....but it appears that our mild Fall weather is over.

I guess it circled around you and hit this area. The winds were kinda bad, but actual storm didn't last long. Can't say what happened in other parts of the city/state, though. I was very surprised electricity stayed on.

We are a little north/east of you in the Columbia area. It was as you described. We got prepared for some high winds but they went north of us. I went out at 5 pm with shorts and tank top. It was 74! I am pointing at the new well.

Very glad that you are all okay, Don, and Janice and all!

And it's great to see you out and enjoying your new water well, PacoDennis! It's amazing to think that such a small item like that one, can change so much of daily living!

We got hit hard in KS. Plus we had wildfires from downed lines. Our winds topped out at 98 mph.

98 mph is more than enough to do some serious damage, and cause trees to flop into the power lines. We probably only saw winds about half that speed, luckily This has been a rather strange Fall, and may be an indicator of what climate change might be bringing.

Don, I'm so glad you were not impacted.

Marci, I'm so sorry to hear you were affected and hope everything is okay with you.
