You are probably right. I discovered that store when we moved here to the valley, 23 yrs. ago.If I recall correctly, that was the first of its kind.
Maybe 20 years ago (?)

I had seen on the news (initially) that they were going to have higher priced item but keep them in a separate section with the appropriate signage. I wonder if going up 25 cents on everything is an alternative move or if they'll be doing both?will be curious to see what they sell when prices go up. my understanding is it's not just gonna cost more for what was a buck but tht products would be of higher quality. paper/plastic products are generally not a WOW deal. i will occasionally buy chips cuz in smaller bags. that way i will finish them before they get a chance to go stale.
trueit may be hard to let this die out if we keep seeing replies we want to respond to.
Our poundland sells Duracell and Kodak batteries.. they're £2.00 per pack rather than £1.Yeah, I don't fool with cheap batteries.
Top brand......top results
we used to have a 99p store too.. it died, but recently they've opened a chain of ''Onebelow'' stores which are owned by the original Poundland owners, altho' there's not any of those near where I live, the only one that I've been in, in another town , was grubby and messy, so I wouldn't go again. If I recall correctly, that was the first of its kind.

I heard about that, but the two Dollar Trees in this area still have everything for $1. Plus tax, of course. The news is they are going up to 1.25 per item. Not sure which stores will be affected. We have a great one here but I have not been in a little bit. Dollar Tree to me is better than all the rest.

Did the driver say "Hey, I think I'll run into the Dollar Tree for a minute..."![]()
Shoppers and staff at the Dollar Tree at 2485 Notre Dame Blvd. in Chico had quite a shock Monday morning, Jan. 31, 2022 when a green Honda CRV came crashing into their store.
At approximately 11:34 a.m. the vehicle, driven by an older adult, crashed through the west side of the building, through an emergency exit and brick wall. The car continued its momentum down the greeting card aisle, traveling most of the way through the store until finally stopping. Customers reported running from the vehicle but fortunately there were no injuries. The store is expected to reopen, pending investigation and construction. (Melissa Joseph — Chico Enterprise-Record)

I'm always getting Dollar General and Family Dollar mixed up, have been in both locally, years ago.Prefer Dollar General to the others Toilet cleaner, some vanilla wafers or gingersnaps, calendars, greeting cards, but only once every couple of months
