I found this test whilst searching for something completely different, nd thought it might amuse folks here, (I scored borderline normal, so better be careful, I dont want to overdo anything obviously!):

Internet Addiction Test

This questionnaire consists of 20 statements. After reading each statement carefully, based upon the 5-point Likert scale, please select the response (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5) which best describes you. If two choices seem to apply equally well, circle the choice that best represents how you are most of the time during the past month. Be sure to read all the statements carefully before making your choice. The statements refer to offline situations or actions unless otherwise specified.

SCORING The IAT total score is the sum of the ratings given by the examinee for the 20 item responses. Each item is rated on a 5-point scale ranging from 0 to 5. The maximum score is 100 points. The higher the score is, the higher is the severity of your problem. Total scores that range from 0 to 30 points are considered to reflect a normal level of Internet usage; scores of 31 to 49 indicate the presence of a mild level of Internet addiction; 50 to 79 reflect the presence of a moderate level; and scores of 80 to 100 indicate a severe dependence upon the Internet.

I am about 25, I guess that is ok.

Interesting quiz, if I had guessed before taking it I would have predicted higher. Suppose others are more addicted than I am.
I'm not sure I answered the questions quite are honestly as I should have done, and having no partner I automatically scored zero on that one, and another one didn't apply too, so maybe I do have a thankfully mild problem, and much worse than many addictions you'd have to say!!(y):)

I go to Pinterest for a recipe for supper
Listen to the news on my Laptop when getting ready for bed
Go to YouTube for music or to watch Abandoned Homes
Go to Audible for meditation and a book reading
Come here for entertainment and a sharing of day to day life..
Soo yea I am an addict 😑

According to the survey, I'm mildly addicted.

This survey was interesting to me.

I'm currently using an app on my iPhone to track my usage and where I spend my time.

The app has been a big help to me in lowering my monthly data charges.

I haven't actually reduced my usage just transferred my usage from the iPhone to the laptop.

Since retirement my usage has definitely gone up, but then I watch the general public at restaurants, waiting rooms,,,etc with their smartphones, I don't feel too bad. Hard to get more involved on a simple flip phone with talk/text.

Honestly, I'm @ 12 being retired eliminated a few questions, I would have thought I'd be much higher. Besides 1 thing I avoid is talking on the phone, hearing aids get whistling & I guess I don't have that much to say.

Ah I've lived my life. Would looking out the window watching the neighbors be better? Because that's what everyone else does around here. Then they get on the telephone and gossip about it. Yesterday I got a call from the Daughters of Discord asking me if the people two houses down were moving out. I don't know what those people do and I wouldn't care if I did know. I just told them I didn't know and it made them feel better that they knew something I didn't. Yes this is how the world is, so what's the big deal about an internet addiction. Everyone is addicted to something. Do I fantasize about being online when I'm offline? Haha no.

Well if something adversely affects your behavior or quality of life, and is compulsive...then it could be regarded as an addiction.
That's giving more information than just "a lot of usage".

I built my first website in 1999, and made website design my business for 20 years. Did very well at it; made a lot of people a lot of money. So?

I had a pretty low score, but during that pand. and cold weather I find I’m using it more not so much out of choosing it over something else to do, but because there ISN’T something else to do.

...sorry, I didn't see your power user credentials.

So, for mere mortals(not power users) "too much internet" can cause anxiety, depression and other changes in behavior and quality of life.

Huh. Not sure why ... but if something depressed me or caused anxiety, I'd get away from it. No good entertaining yourself with something that doesn't benefit you or just plain feel good.

Those are just my thoughts. No one else has to think that way.

I must say, I've never been put down for doing well at something. Enlightening. Oh well.
What are you talking about??? There was no "putdown" what-so-ever in my comments....I was giving you an frekin' compliment with the "power user" reference. Maybe I should have included an emoji-smilie but I thought that would be taken as being condescending.

Okay. It didn't come across that way to me — but I get it now (at last). And ... thanks. ❤️
