FDA warns about Family Dollar stores

I don't go there often, but the Family dollar nearby seems clean and well stocked. The Dollar General on the other hand is the opposite. It probably depends on who manages.

Hey, I live in Arkansas, it's the "Natural State".
Did you take offense at something or are you just joking? I was only talking about a distribution center that happens to be located in Arkansas, nothing else.

Not surprised either. I rarely go there and never buy food or anything mentioned above. Just some gift bags. I'll never go in again, even though Connecticut was not mentioned.
Never went to a Family Dollar, but there's a dollar store by me that I've only been in a couple of times over the years, usually around Christmas for a gift bag. I'm not surprised either, I heard years ago something about buying pills and vitamins there, not being what they claimed.

Sounds quite disgusting! I have only shopped at Family Dollar a couple of times because their items are more than a dollar. I prefer Dollar Tree but found out last week, to my surprise that Family Dollar is a subsidiary of Dollar Tree. I live in N.J. so guess I'm "safe".

Our DollarTree here is very clean and nice. No China smell there. Would not shop at Family Dollar store as the only one I was in was dirty. But the Dollar Tree here is good. I buy cards, gift bags and such.

All this reminds me of my dad. He washed off all the tops of cans, saying you never know what's been walking on them in the warehouse! To this day I wipe off can tops to get rid of "rat tracks"!
@caroln ~ I do the same thing. My Mom taught me that, and it makes sense, so I automatically rinse off the top of a can before I open it. ;)

This isn't about the products being sold coming from China. It's about the dirty, unsafe conditions in the distribution center in Arkansas.
Like any other business, there is an owner and there is a manager. The owner hires the manager. If the place is dirty and filty then we have to blame the manager. Ditto, for dirty bathrooms. The manager's job is to assign the job of keeping the place clean. If it was me, I would not return to a dirty store. Shame on them!
