Ukraine. It's war. But it's not the US going to war, it's NATO, of which the US is a member. There will be US military involved, and unfortunately, there will be US casualties along with casualties from every NATO ally, not to mention the civilian casualties in Ukraine.

How sad. Will the thirst for power never end?

has ordered Russian troops to invade Ukraine with 190,000 soldiers ready to strike, U.S. intelligence sources have claimed.

Sources alleged Russian commanders on the ground have received orders to proceed with an invasion of Kiev and they are now making specific battle plans on how they will attack.

No less than 75 per cent of Putin's conventional forces are now poised at the Ukrainian border, it emerged tonight, as US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken warned that 'we are on the brink of an invasion'.

It is thought Moscow will start the invasion with a cyber-assault before unleashing a campaign of missile and airstrikes before ground troops attempt to take Ukrainian cities and towns, reports CBS News. The invading Russian force reportedly has the ability to invade and take much of the country.

The dire warnings come as Putin and his ally Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko extended military drills in Belarus that were due to end on Sunday, meaning an estimated 30,000 Russian troops will remain there.

Despite US intelligence claiming Putin has ordered his troops to invade Ukraine, Boris Johnson tonight said the next week will be 'crucial for diplomacy' as he suggested there is still hope of avoiding a war between Russia and Ukraine.

But the concentration of an estimated 190,000 Russian soldiers, warplanes and equipment within striking distance of Ukraine – including as many as 500 fighter and fighter-bomber aircraft – is highly unusual and part of the reason Washington believes Russia is ready to attack, a US official told CNN.

Amid the soaring tensions Macron pleaded for peace from his Russian counterpart during a two-hour phone call today – but Putin blamed Ukrainian 'provocations' for the escalating crisis that could turn into all-out war.

Ukraine has begged the West to act now and impose sanctions on Russia in response to sustained shelling by pro-Russia separatists in eastern Ukraine.

It's not only Russia/Ukraine invasion, after the Olympics ,but China invading Taiwan as well, isn't it?

I'm embarrassed for the U.S. hiding our head in the sand while this is happening. What would Teddy Roosevelt do?

Putin flat out lied about pulling back troops and not invading only days before Russia did it. @Nosy Bee-54 greed and power will always be motivating factors for the horrific things people do to one another and even entire countries. @Lewcat..I tend to agree with you. I saw that the president of the Ukraine (I think it was) said he doesn't see the sense in waiting until the start of the war to impose sanctions. He feels that should have been done before war broke out. Any thoughts about that?
