Thoughts about witches and witchcraft

I believe the construction/perception of witches were contrived by males as an attempt to blame so called witches for social and political gain. What better way to gain community support and ill gotten justification than by accusing victimized women in league with the Devil?

I propose these women labeled as witches were not in cahoots with the devil at all but was framed that way so the community would side with governmental and religious authority, even though no actual proof of witchcraft existed.

Be weary of people‘s agenda who do things in the name of god and religion.

I’ve learned to think for myself, but not before following someone else’s concept of who and what I should be.

What has gotten into some people?

Tennessee preacher Greg Locke says demons told him names of witches in his church Rant

Acting like that could get someone killed.

Maybe so, but I am pretty sure the Halloween costume and related industries are largely responsible for keep it alive.

Before these people, mainly women, were called witches, they
were simply elders in villages who knew about herbs that healed
illnesses, somebody condemned them, possibly after a relative
couldn't be cured!

After they were called witches, several years after, they all became
known as, healers, doctors, apothecaries or alchemists, everybody
was very happy to know one who operated close to home.

Do I think my ex was taking orders from the devil? No, he took orders from her. With great regret, I can't call her a witch. Close, I admit but, no.
If someone wants to be a witch, and practice witchcraft, why not? As long as their beliefs don't infringe on my rights.

The association between satanism and witchcraft is imbedded in history as a factual truth that has yet to be proven either way. It is travesty that neighbors turned on neighbors for fear they would punished for opposing political and religious authority.

We humans are ignorant of powers and forces outside the Earth in the multiverse.
It is dangerous to "conjure" these forces (if they exist) into our surroundings.
Stay away from the "dark arts" for it's possible this could bring much harm
to the world. (The world is in a vulnerable state as it is!) IMO

I have been to Salem, MA before. Some of actual trial transcripts are included in the side links here:

I toured Magistrate Jonathan Corwin's home on Essex st. where some of the preliminary hearings were held. The only existing structure still standing related to the 1692 trials.

The visitor center had many historical facts/stories and pictures/drawings of the horrible events, what the accused went through, nothing less then an actual Hell on Earth.

Just had a thought; humans have not evolved to a measurable degree since the origin of mankind. Humans learned to harness electricity, cure disease, cross continents, fly in the air and breath underwater, in spite of these advancements the human condition is the same today as it has always been.

Oh, I'd love to visit! Had an ancestor involved in the trials.

I've read that some historians/scientists believe that much the events surrounding the witch trials was caused by the ingestion of bread mold, that acted as a strong hallucinogen, similar to LSD, that affected basically the entire local population.

My mom was a witch. She had 3 brooms.
One that she used on her kids.
One that she swept with.
One that she rode on.
